Glad I watched this. I broke my last cover putting it on. I know what I did wrong now! Thanks

To each his own, when i first saw the original version I had concerns that the clear glass/plastic part may be vulnerable if the bike was dropped and a rock might break it. This is a classic example of form over function, way out of place on a KLR. And for zero benefit. Sure it looks good. Your KLR is possibly the best set-up that I have seen so good luck with the replacement.

I'm actually usually a function over form guy. Honestly if I was planing a trip where drops were going to happen I'll throw the oem one back on. This thing is more of a conversation starter for me. Only reason I even tried it is because it was such a inexpensive item.

Agreed. This mod adds another potential weak-link to the mechanical system with zero benefit. Cool bike tho 👍

Any updates? It's a shame the only aftermarket for the oil filter cover is NiceCNC. If it was a Tusk, IMS or Moose Racing part, I'd be all over it. But, just the NiceCNC stamp just feels cheap if ya know what I mean. I see what I did wrong with my oem cover on my 2003 now. Broke the oem at the right side bolt. Oem is $67.

I don't own the bike any more but the new owner says it's holding strong.

I tend to caution ⚠️ on the side of Zero failures & will leave it stock! 😂
