One of the cool subtle things about Egon Spengler, is he's a secret Casanova. An epididymis is a "highly convoluted duct behind the testis, along which sperm passes to the vas deferens". Egon was asserting his manhood to Venkman, hence his reaction after he said it😆

4:25 "They're absolutely saying nonsense" Not entirely. APGAR score is a real thing - it's an assessment used to quickly measure the health status of a baby (heart rate, skin color, breathing, muscle tone, response to stimulation). Though, it's typically used to assess the status of newborns who are one to five minutes old, not kids who are several months old. The Gammill and Pross test sounds like bs though.

Watch LegalEagle's reaction to this court scene. Apparently there is supposed to be no jury at this kind of trial. Somebody in the comments to his video pointed out that this might be the reason why Louis stumbles because he wanted to say "jury" but then he realized that there is no jury so he says "audience" instead (look at the scene again, he even looks to the place where the jury would be right when he stumbles). If this is true, this might be the biggest attention to detail and the most subtle joke in any movie ever, even more so than the "epididymitis" joke (which is also in GB2).

4:21 As far as I read the "Gammill and Pross Infant Acuity Test" was a way of naming two of the writers - Tom Gammill and Max Pross, who later wrote episodes for multiple successful TV series like Seinfeld and Monk - who couldn't be mentioned in the movie credits because they weren't part of some official writers association or whatever. The Apgar score however is a real thing that's tested right after birth and then again a few moments/hours later. It doesn't make sense in this scenario though. It's named after its inventor but is also an acronym for -appearance (is the skin healthy or cyanosed) -pulse -grimace (is the baby crying or non responsive) -agility (are the muscles flexing or limb) -respiration

Ghostbusters 2 is supposed to kind of have the tone of the cartoon, that's why you see janine with louis, but i think she's kind of fantasizing that louis is egon, that's why she gets him in the spengler jumpsuit and kisses him when louis wants to go help the guys at the museum. 4:22 - Gammill and Pross Infant Acuity Test is a joke/shout out to their friends. Tom Gammill and Max Pross are a comedy writing team who worked on SNL, and did a lot of gag movement comedy with Steve Martin, John Candy, Dan Aykroyd, and Eric Idle (they later wrote for Gary Shandling, Seinfeld, The Wonder Years, The Simpsons, Futurama, etc). They were very well known for being able in inject a lot of very silly scenes played off in a very serious manner. Thus this entire examination scene is very typical of something they would do. They were both Harvard students around the same time as the Harvard Lampoon explosion in popularity, when led them to into SNL and National Lampoon comedy...thus their connections to both SCTV, Ramis, and Aykroid. 4:25 - Apgar score is a real scoring system to evaluate newborns response to stimuli in the first 5 minutes after being born. 4:30 - "Jigawatts" is actually a word. Giga which is the SI Unit prefix for 10^9. From the 1920 through to the 1950s the G was pronounced with a soft g because its greek origin from gigas (giant in greek) which is pronounced with the first g being soft. In the 1960s-1970s the convention really started to be anglicized in academia with a hard G. By the time the G was commonly used in computer related parlance everyone had already adopted the hard-G. So Doc Brown saying "jiga" in Back To The Future was a very small clue that was supposed to indicate that he had an older academic background and has been out of touch with modern science for decades. And as a side note a bolt of lightning could release 1.21 gigawatts of electricity, in general they average 100-300 kilowatts-hours but all in just a fraction of a second could technically be in the gigawatts per watt-second.

Technically, the damage to Central Park West was because of how it was designed by Ivo Shandor and because Walter Peck had the Containment Grid shut off. Also, I think the reason Slimer helped Louis with the bus ride is he felt bad for scaring him and eating his lunch

The Venkman character is not an awful person. He's a wisecracking lovable ahole, with a good heart. Also, he's quite courageous when you think about it.

Agreed; he's...a bit of a dick, but he's somehow also everybody's best friend who you know will be there for you in the clutch, which is why everyone puts up with his wiseass~😅

I love Ghostbusters 2. I think it’s underrated.

Fun Fact: There was a deleted scene of Ray partially turning into Vigo earlier in the film, driving the Ecto-1 and nearly killing them all before snapping out of it.

When I first saw this movie, the fur coming back alive scared the crap out of me the most.

Absolutely 💯 loved that you were so enthusiastic about this one. This was my first exposure to GB when I was 8 yrs old, so for me, this was like the first movie. The writing was spot on, and the more you watch them, the more of the nuanced comedy really shines through. Of course it was all sorts of wierd.. it was written collaboratively from the minds that brought you National Lampoon & SCTV!
