Dr. King was a REAL FAN!😂😂 “You can’t leave … you’re on a five-year mission”. I just became a huge fan of the original Star Trek, about fifteen years ago. She’s my favorite from that series. I always thought that they didn’t give her enough camera time in the beginning of the series but as the episodes went on she was seen more. R.I.P Queen! You definitely made a difference.

Rest In Power Mrs. Nichols. I love when she talked about Dr. King calling her and telling her that it was important for her to stay on Star Trek. because a lot of people don't know that she was going to quit after the 1st season I believe due to them not treating her good on the set. I'm glad she fought the good fight.

The more I think about it, the bigger this day is. In another interview, Nicholls related how Dr. King said than in Lt. Uhura, "white Americans saw black Americans as we should be seen every day". Yeah, she was a trailblazer, and all blacks that are portrayed in movies or TV as a person with a high-tech skills and knowledge can trace their roots to Lt. Uhura in Star Trek.
