This is way, way, way, ahead of my time, but I've always loved looking at old movies as a kid. I'm thinking now, I wonder what Fred Astaire thought about the Nicholas Brothers and yes, too bad prejudice and racism kept them from getting more exposure. What a shame.

Fayard is my favorite all time entertainer, before Gene, Fred, and other minor dancers. If there wasn't such rampant racism and African American's not having their full rights as human beings that were just as equal to any white or brown skin person, Nicholas Brothers would be hailed more than Gene or Fred. Can you imagine! The brothers would have shut the soundstage in LA down, when these brilliant men performed. Rest In Peace, Fayard my favorite and Harold Antonio! 😘

Not in this case, tey overdubbed the music and vocals. If it were live we'd hear the tap shoes, instead there's no tap sounds. Also, watch the drummers, their not in sync with the music.

It's not live, they had the technology to dub performances back then and often did, especially for complicated scenes like this. Remember that not only do the orchestra and the dancers have to be in sync (that's the easy part), but light, cameras, sound, and what if the director wants an extra take? Or maybe I'll shut up and let people enjoy making up ridiculous lies about the past.

From an era of the ILLUSION of pure class, but ask Judy Garland among many other entertainers of the behind the scenes horrors that was done to some of the most famous of entertainers, especially the women, but men did not escape abuse either. Either way, this dancing scene was amazing. If you study history, today's shenanigans in entertainment (overt sexuality, confused sexuality, demonic worship, celebrity public breakdowns etc) begin to make more sense. Eventually the ignored garbage will stink up the house.
