yea i remember reading Safe Haven during my time in prison and it's definitely a little darker of a story than the others he's written, but it's still one of his better books in my opinion for sure. @@muhammadrifkiridhani874

I'm typically not one of those people who's a "ThE BoOkS aRe BeTtEr" snob, but in Sparks' case, they kind of are. I mean I sort of have a small advantage having been to some of the places his novels take place, so it's much easier to visualize them, but let's just say in the movie adaptations, the characters I pictured and how they acted don't match who they casted almost every time. The only one I think they did a good job on of the films I've seen is Safe Haven. Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel were good picks for that one.

As an avid reader of all of hist novels up to "The Best of Me" if there's one book that desperately needs a film adaptation, it's 'True Believer'. I can remember it was the first novel of his I ever read, and what drew me in to read the book was the original cover which is my favorite place in the whole word, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, a famous travel destination which is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Sparks' home state. The reason why that cover with that lighthouse on the cover pulled me in was truth be told, it was my first time in jail and I was desperate for a book to read which would help me pass time, but also provide an escape from literally the walls around me. It went from a book in which I planned on spacing out reading over the course of a week or two, to finishing it completely within 3 days. Now I still spent all the time I could out of my cell and on the open part of the block, but the times where it wasn't a choice and you're locked in your cell for when the food trays are delivered or carried away which was roughly 30 minutes before and after meal time, except for after lunch time. Lunch was 30 minutes locked in before trays arrive, then released to go eat, and then go back in from 1230 all the way to 1415(2:15pm) because of afternoon shift change. During shift changes the whole jail was on lock down unless you were lucky enough to be on J block, which was the worker's unit. Only other time period which wasn't a choice was good ol' "Lights Out!" @ 2215(10:15pm). During lights out typically I would spend like an hour or two talking with whoever my cell mate was, but after they'd lay down for the night, my nose was in that book. Years later, many years later now in fact, I still hold that story in such a high regard because although to a slight disappointment the whole story isn't set in Cape Hatteras, there's two times where it is, and it's just truly a good story. I was pleased to find out later on that the epilogue led to a sequel of True Believer which was pretty good if my memory serves me correct. So yea... MAKE TRUE BELIEVERS A FILM!! I wanna see the Outer Banks in another Sparks film adaptation!
