What’s your favorite moment of the show up until this point? Before season 4, of course 😂 Originally, the scene where Kenny dies and talks to Levi was my favorite scene of the show. My favorite moment is the beach scene. Isayama said this about it in an interview: *Q: In tankobon volume 18, there is even the scene of trio reconfirming their desire to see the sea!* "Yes there is. However, the Eren then was different from Armin, who fought for the goal of even just seeing the sea once. In truth Eren is not that committed to the sea. Even though Eren and Armin became great childhood friends because they shared the dream for “the world outside the walls,” but the root of that dream has some slight differences. Armin possessed a curiosity for knowledge, and held onto the thought of “I want to see the sea.” On the other hand, Eren viewed it as, “The sea obviously exists, but we don’t have the freedom to see it” - and he felt indignation towards that. He was not interested in the sea itself. Other than this, throughout the entire story, all the situations Eren became involved with continues to change, and his grasp of the sea itself subsequently fades. The gradual clarity of how the two of them have diverged in perspective, and Armin’s own shock towards this realization - that’s the story of that scene in volume 18."

My favorite moment in the entire show, hands down, is actually the moment Eren kissed Historia's hand and saw those memories. The sheer ramifications of that moment are absolutely incredible and unique in any show I've ever watched, and the timing of it all is... heartbreaking. You see all of Eren's friends celebrating their victory on the beach (classic beach episode for anime), but there Eren is - no longer patriotic and hopeful, as broken as he was back when he asked Historia to eat him. The "freedom" that he'd hoped for all that time was a lie, and obtaining it is no longer as simple as "kill all titans, escape the wall."

I think the best moment so far for me in AOT is when Eren just starts hysterically laughing after Hannes death, it was the final nail in the coffin for him that drove him in that moment to insanity. His friends dying around him, his self doubt (i.e unable to transform) and then he starts crying, just letting it all out.

Favourite moment up until now is definitely the "save mikasa and armin" moment, yes there was other incredible story and emotional moments such as Midnight sun but that was literally the biggest WTF moment in all of fiction i have seen. And to drop such a big what the fuck after already mind fucking the audience with the entire lore and history made it even more crazy, it really made me question just what more this story has in store for us.

There was an interview with the author of the story where he talks about the meaning behind the seashell and the rest of the scene involving the ocean. Here's an excerpt from the interview: "Interviewer: In volume 18, there is even the scene of the trio reconfirming their desire to see the sea! Isayama: Yes there is. On top of this, throughout the entire story, all the conflicts Eren became involved with continued to change, and his grasp of the sea itself subsequently faded. The gradual clarity of how the two of them have diverged in perspective, and Armin’s own shock towards this realization - that’s the story of that scene in volume 18. Isayama: When they reached the sea, the shell Armin held symbolized “something that only exists in the sea.” He tells Eren, “Look at this.” However, Eren does not glance towards it as he was focused on more serious thoughts. “The shell that was ignored” was then forsaken within Armin’s hand. This could be “the end of a dream” though maybe even moreso “the end of adolescence,” but I added some elements of both during that scene."

Really my favortie character ever, and you will see more in next season of his amazing development. The scene with them reaching the ocean is still to this day my favorite moment in the entire show to this day. It's what they always dreamed about, yet the sadness of Eren not being able to even enjoy that moment with all that he has seen, and asking "if we kill everyone over there, will we finally be free?", and with the music as well, it kills me everytime. For Armin, his dream was to be able to physically see the ocean with his own eyes, but for Eren reaching the ocean was always more about what it symbolised, since Eren always viewed reaching the ocean as the same as finally reaching true freedom, though his expectations were shattert once he learnd that reaching the ocean would only be the first step for reaching freedom. Eren's one and only goal has always been and will always be to reach true freedome, from titans, from humans, and from the entire world who hates them for their race and wants to see them dead.
