I open advent boxes, one day at a time. That is the fun of it! I am stitching vintage 5, Nutcrackers by Crocette a gogo, and sewing some quilted Christmas stockings. I love to sew! I too, have a curio cabinet and I have Hummels, and some of them are Christmas and I leave them up all year, and on the bottom, is where I keep my German Pyramid, it is easier then trying to box it up each year. Have a good day!

I don’t have any advent calendars. I used to have a paper crafting one, but I’m in the open it each day camp. I like the surprise each day. Currently stitching a blooming roots monthly stitch from stitching with the housewives and a cookies and cocoa freebie stitch from primrose cottage. I have lots of those faux candles. They are the best. My favorite ones are from luminaire but they are spendy. Thanks again for sharing your day! Love seeing the boys too. 😊

I have three this year a cross stitch one from Caterpillar Cross Stitch, a regular chocolate one, and an ice cream advent. I always savor them. I want until after work to open my cross stitch one.

Another fun video!! I just finished making a pillow using your felt star snowman! I was SEW excited to make it! Also, I purchased the Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas also, and have yet to open it! But I've enjoyed watching you open every day, and have an idea to make a tag for each of the 12 days as a gift for my friend. I have had other advent-type things in the past, and have been a good rule follower, opening on the designated day! I enjoyed your tour of ornaments and candles today; you always leave me with something to think about. Also, know that taking a little nap is always a good thing!! Thanks SEW much for sharing!!

I have done advent boxes the last couple of years and I open them day by day. I had noticed you opened your advent boxes later in the day. I could not wait that long . Understandable you had a much needed nap. Poor Odin. Nothing like a cuddle with mama. I’m done with Christmas stitching. Right now I am stitching the “Sleeping Bee” by Jeannine McGowan. Also planning to sew a project bag by a Tiger Lily design that will hold my floss that I keep in bobbins. What a beautiful tree you have downstairs. Lovely finish on the Christmas Rules.

Your stitching on canvas is just lovely, I know that it would take me some time to get just one of the larger pieces done. I did have laser surgery on one of my eyes, which means I can now see well enough to contemplate stitching more than simple felt ornaments. Just loving watching your enthusiasm for all the crafting things you accomplish. I love your card makes and really enjoy watching your delight in your stitching projects. Sew this year I have bought the Spellbinders Crafty advent box, the Spellbinders Stitchmas advent box (which is wonderful), the Simon Says Stamp Gingermas advent box (which is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE) as you can tell I am a multi-crafter too; although I must say I do more paper crafting and cross stitching than any of my other crafts (sewing and crochet) I have also purchased 2 different jigsaw puzzle advent boxes. I am like you; I am very disciplined about opening only the current days advent window instead of everything all at once and I don't always open them first thing. Some days they won't get opened till 8 or 9 that night.

I have several advent calendars, from food related to stitchy stuff and I savor them every day. I enjoy the 12 or 25 days of little surprises actually more than gifts on Christmas morning. I think they extend the joy and festivities of the season sew much -- a little bit of joy everyday. My mother and I Facetime every night from Dec 1st thru the 25th (I live in TX and she lives in VA). During our nightly FT, we have the same tea and cheese from our Aldi advents, we each scratch a $1 lotto ticket, and we stitch on the same project for a few minutes together (we are stitching the cardinal from the Prairie Schooler Birds & Berries leaflet). I created a stitchy advent box for her and her for me, and we also unveil those during our FT chat (we did 12 days). On day 13, we are starting the Tiger Lily advent box (we each have one). The holidays can be emotionally challenging for us for personal reasons, and having some advent joy in my day really does sew much to help lift my spirits. I have also enjoyed the kitten stitcher's advent box and the box itself is absolutely gorgeous! I am going to save it and either put Xmas charts/WIPs in it or use for my needs to be FFO-ed stash. I also enjoy the Aldi puzzle advent box - I am doing the one from last year again and the new one for 2024 so I can do a small festive puzzle everyday until Christmas (there are 12 in each). Happy holidays to everyone -- a little bit each and every day!

I have put up no decorations but have been stitching lots of Christmas. I haven’t received or purchased an advent box but am tempted to buy one next year. I think I really want to make a 12 days of Christmas box for both my daughters. I am taking notes now! I totally understand the loud noises causing issues for Odin - my Jasper is similar. We try to avoid fireworks every year. Currently, I am stitching the Plum Street ornament from the Chantelle’s 141 mystery box this year. I am loving it. I am also seeing a few tiny pillows to add to my dough bowl. Merry Christmas!

Just returning to my love of SEW ing. I made my first project bag a few months ago. From several feet away it looks great. Not so much when you look at my binding up close. A real struggle! Last January I fully finished several small pillows and I love them all. I am looking at buying a new machine. Wishing you would do a video on what you recommend shopping for in a new machine. I am stitching a few Christmas charts (Primrose!!) but will be jumping over to my Primitive stitching this month and mixing it up with my Holiday stitching. I LOVE your red and white accents in your basement. It is just beautiful. No basements in Texas.... so sad! Have a great week. I want to sign up and do Kitten Stitchers Advent Box the next time it is offered. I have thoroughly enjoyed each days opening.
