Oh my lord I love this edit. Every scene change was exactly on beat, but you went further. You told a story! With the beginning having flashbacks to the snow day and Nick realizing maybe he sees charlie as more than a friend, their first spark, and how things changed with "everything has changed". You created such a great storytelling narrative throughout the entire song and it fit with the lyrics and i absolutely love it. This is testament to what a great editor you are, from the editing itself, but also knowing how to tell a story through it, which is a whole other lovely level!!

@@goody1206 Hahaha geek out as much as you want! I could talk for hours about every little choice I made for this edit, and it's wonderful to see viewers noticing them. It helps too, though, that the lyrics of the song just lined up so well with the source material! It makes my job a little easier, with them being fairly literal. Sometimes lyrics will line up in my head, but there's no simple, concrete visual parallel, so I have to find something that visually gets my abstract point across. Heartstopper is such a delightful show, and I'm so glad to make my little mark in the fandom. I typically make angsty videos which, while fun too, can be so emotionally draining. But Heartstopper is joyful and fun, and that translated to my experience making this video. Instead of draining me, the making of this honestly kind of served to charge my emotional battery. this is BEAUTIFUL oh my goodness???? the music choice already makes this one of my favorite edits, but the cuts to the beat, the choices of scenes that go together and with the lyrics, the way some scenes (like the drum scene) goes with the beat of the song, the fact that you thought to add the lyrics to the captions???? which I have rarely ever seen in an edit?? seriously this was fantastic

Awww I’m so glad you enjoyed it! It was a super fun edit to make. I’m notoriously obsessed with cutting on the beat. I personally find cuts tend to look off and jarring otherwise. Maybe that’s just because I’m such a musical person (I’ve been taking piano lessons since I was 3 years old). But I will spend a ridiculous amount of time fiddling with and tweaking clips to make sure each cut lands on the beat. I completely stumbled upon the drums! I had that scene open in my editing software when I was working on the first “I just wanna know you better” part, and suddenly I realized that if I was going to include that scene in the edit at all, it would probably look best if I tried to line up the drum beats with the drum in the song. And then I just got lucky that it worked! I’ve only recently started adding closed captioning! It’s on most of my edits now. I saw a few edits by other people where I didn’t know the song but they’d added closed captioning for the lyrics, and I was able to appreciate the edits a lot more. So I thought it would be a good idea to add them to my own! It’s kind of tedious, but I think it’s worth it if it helps some viewers and makes the viewing experience better for them! LOL sorry that this reply is so long! I don’t know what got into me and why I’m suddenly so chatty. But thank you so much for watching and commenting! ❤️❤️❤️
