The best Nick Faldo and David Leadbetter swing drill ever! Simply connects your hands, arms and body together for a solid rotation and a correctly aligned clubface throughtout the swing.
After a short time you will be able to work this swing drill into your full swing for more consistency and power.

Hi Lee, I found an old video on youtube of Nick Faldo doing this drill this past March. For years I had struggled for consistent solid contact with the ball. My swing was much too flat and laid off. I have since practiced this Faldo drill countless times and can say without hesitancy that I have never struck the golf ball so well in 30 years of playing. My position at the top is much improved. This drill works and the beauty is in its simplicity. I can practice it anywhere with or without a club. Thanks for posting an updated version of this drill. I encourage others to try it! p.s. The video of your children hitting golf balls was priceless, especially 2yr old Kai!

Thanks so much for your feedback and nice words - it’s much appreciated my friend 😊👍 Yes the Faldo drill is a great way to get things back on track and stay connected! Play well and any feedback in the future would be great 👍 And Kai is 3 now and he clears the garden fence 🤣🔥⛳️

If you watch Faldo, aside from the wrist set, the shoulders are the key. He gets the lead shoulder under the chin (as you correctly observe), then rotates the body (lower first) to get the trail shoulder under the chin. The effect of the acute wrist set and hold is to delay the release of the wrists until the trail shoulder has gotten at least back to the chin, perhaps even further. This slows the rate of closure of the clubface to match the rate of shoulder rotation. The release is done by centrifugal force, with passive (pre-set) wrists. Faldo won 6 majors hitting par 4 approach shots with 2 irons. Thanks for posting.

Hi my friend, yes it’s a great drill to help all golfers to feel how the top of the back swing position should be. Most golfers will just benefit from the rotational feel and how the wrists set at the top and from there most things happen automatically! Thanks for your in-depth comment 👍 much appreciated, cheers, Lee 👍😊⛳️

Finally I found some one that does this drill with a driver. Its golden.. If I could bend your ear a little more. Im sooo excited about this. I apologize if you went through this in the video and I missed it. I need notes for the course. So walk me through what I generally do wrong when I miss left and right. Also how far away from the feet is the target club and the target club to the ball for driver?
@blitzd13
@blitzd13 10 ай бұрын
Also at the set position in the beginning, is it a forearm rotation to parallel, or does one hand push or pull. I see the left we want flat and no movement left or right.

I have worked this drill before and absolutely love how pure the ball striking feeling is 1) could never get to work on driver 2) irons wedges start hooking it bad left. Then hard push right.

Yes my friend it’s a great drill to get into a solid position at the top of the backswing and to work into the downswing from! The target club and the distance from the feet varies slightly from golfer to golfer due to a players build. You should have plenty of room to allow the feet to freely move and turn through the shot 👍
@LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone
@LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone 10 ай бұрын
@@blitzd13 it’s mainly the forearms that rotate! You don’t want to move the hands out of position too much 👍
@LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone

@@blitzd13 if you’re missing both left and right then I always recommend hitting shots with your feet together and work on the swing direction. If you relax and freely swing with the feet together you’ll feel how the hand and arm motion naturally pulls the body into position. From there if the ball is spinning then you need to gain face control through your grip or hands and release! Then and only then can you get the body involved - the hands and arms first and the body follows! I cover all of this in more detail in some of my other videos - I hope this helps and keep me up to speed with your progress, cheers, Lee

Hi, been using this drill for a few weeks now. Hit the ball much more consistently using it than a my normal swing. Incorporation into a normal swing proving difficult so for now I am playing with it. Noticed my glutes get a very good work out using it and now have some idea where the club face is and don’t need to manipulate it in the downswing.

Hi Dave, yes it takes a while to blend the drill into your normal swing but with practice you’ll start to feel that your hands, arms & wrists are more connected to your body rotation/movements! Keep at it and you’ll see some great results! Cheers buddy, Lee

Hi Lee, i will check your downswing videos because i notice that you and the guys i watched in the magical kenya open are able to straighten their left leg in the downswing in a way that most of us regular golfers dont do at all..could you do a video on just that left leg move please.

Great video, as others have mentioned I find this drill brilliant at the range hitting solid shot after solid shot but really struggling to blend it into a full swing on the course. Is it just a case of getting the reps in at the range along with using it as a pre-swing drill and eventually it will groove itself ?
@LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone
@LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone 8 ай бұрын
Thanks Jim 👍 Yes mate it’s all about getting the reps in until it’s ingrained! If I’m honest most golfers don’t do the reps and just move on and try something else. Faldo was quoted as saying that he did this drill until the cows came home! Not saying anyone should go to that extreme but it takes time and practice. If you have a look through my videos the feet together drill is excellent from beginners right through to Tour Players - it’s the #1 drill and build from there 👍⛳️ Cheers, Lee

Great question, this drill is a great way to sink the hand, arm and body movement together! It is a more body centric drill that will take some speed out but really helps a golfer that tends to get disconnected in the backswing and during transition 👍
