I find it funny, they made the original ultimate nick fury based off Samuel L Jackson, which the MCU had play him, at which point the main universe made a Nick Fury Jr who looked similar, and made him more prominent than senior now, so now the new Ultimate universe is basing theirs on the original! It has come full circle

One part I particularly like from HAND’s media blitz is that video with the thumbnail ‘THEY HATE YOU!’ I’ve seen so many shitty thumbnails used by grifters and other awful jackasses trying to convince hetero white male nerds that somehow, comic book writers (and creatives in general) being more progressive and having diverse characters somehow equates to them ‘hating their longest customers.’ And considering a lot of those grifters also push far right conspiracy theories, I’m thinking Mr. Camp was taking the piss out of those guys, and rightly so.

well, if issue 7 of the ultimates is anything to come by, we are getting there - it's just a slow process. you got to remember most of the ultimates are looked at as terrorists: besides one that isn't from this universe. they just have to get rid of the moniker of terrorist to freedom fighters.

Dang, I was really like hoping that they would do more with this character because Nick fury in the original ultimate universe was pretty much like the only thing that was keeping the universe together. I don’t know. I was just kinda expecting something a little bit more. This is just kind of depressing.

i mean that makes sense that nick fury can't do anything to stop them. if the ultimates are having a hard time in stopping the council, nick fury won't be able to either. also, this is a different universe that plays with different rules. so in the 616, and even the old ultimate universe, nick fury held the world together, but in this universe he's not the one in control of everything; he's the one being controlled for a fascist government.
