I went to elementary school with Qadir. I remember being so glad there was another brown kid. He was always kind to me even when I had to move away to the Middle East. He stood out to me because I’m an Arab Muslim and his name derived from the Arabic word Qadr meaning value or destiny. I often pray for him that Allah has mercy on him and rewards him in the next life for any suffering. Thank you for this tribute I know he would love it.

My guess is that most poeple are uncomfortable when they consider their existence.

My mother passed away in July. It's been so difficult without her and I feel lost at times. Processing this grief hasn't been easy but it's necessary. I don't feel like myself now but this too shall pass. One love to those who've passed on and their loved ones who are grieving, our pain unites us. ❤

Life is happening right now and out of nowhere this song pops in my Head… Hear this song couple years ago and literally spent the last hours trying to remember it… always a beautiful song…. Be kind

i think i've said this before but i truly believe this song captures its zeitgeist (2020, especifically) so well. it's deeply personal but speaks so directly into the collective grief and loss we've experienced as a whole. it was a very rough year for me, it was rough for all of us. this song was my favorite through the hardest days in 2020 and i'm still mesmerized by its simultaneous weight and delicacy. despite and half past the pain, i want to stick to the complexity of kindness.

feelin like qadir could represent alot. The darkness that pours in on those on earth after some people leave it... how these systems make victims of the brightest individuals.

Some of us wear masks To hide the pain And I just wish I could ask [Chorus] Qadir, oh what's the deal now? What did you plant in your mother’s garden? Qadir, oh I miss you dearly What did you plant in your mothers garden?
