Liar, guilty as sin, he only held his own because the interviewer was so nice. He's a punk.

I'm not sure if he's telling the truth or not but as far as a polygraph I don't trust them. You can't use them in court so it's pointless to take one
@roxannemoser11 ай бұрын
They're junk science. Nobody passes or fails. That's why they're not allowed in court. They use them to lie to a suspect to draw a confession.
@chrismarchman45689 ай бұрын
Agreed. If you fail then they say, "guilty as sin!" If you pass, they say, "well, this isn't admissible in court anyway..."

My vocational instructor ( machine tool) was like my Dad ,a Master tool & die maker - he was also retired military - he had a degree in mechanical engineering and psychology - All obtained while in the military - What he didn't know he had been picked to be part of a team who updated & designed the modern version of the lie detector test - He told me in 1987 - Never take one - it doesn't matter if you are innocent or not ! I believe him -
@jk77137 ай бұрын
Yes and no. They are inadmissible obviously but sometimes just the pressure behind taking a polygraph is enough to push people into admission of guilt or if the results are very bad, it gives investigators an idea of who to look into more.

Why do they use polygraphs in the US? No double-blind, independent, peer-reviewed study has ever shown polygraphs to be more accurate than a coin toss.
@cccccc49910 ай бұрын
They’re mainly used to try to pressure people into admitting something. They can’t be used in court
@DoRullings10 ай бұрын
@@cccccc499 Thank you. I have never seen data from polygraph tests used in court, but the cases I look at are high profile cases and they are not representative of either all cases or the laws of all states. Do you know if the use of polygraphs in court cases is something the states can decide for themselves or if it is federal law?

Because the "justice" system is a criminal enterprise, like every other governmental organization. Government is just a big gang, like any other gang, but only worse - it has an air of legitimacy.

@FathomlessJoy11 күн бұрын
I saw his original interview, in which he showed no animosity nor defensiveness, and so far as I can tell, he showed ZERO signs of deception. Perhaps Brooks killed her. Perhaps Nick helped cover it up. But I see no signs of either of them lying and the state's evidence seems as thin and flimsy as the layer of plastic on a new cell phone.

I suspect her body was put in with the brush/branches in a burn pile. If they used diesel fuel, over a couple of hours & adding more branches, a human body would probably cremate. That is how you burn tree stumps, etc.
@roxannemoser11 ай бұрын
It takes 1800 degrees and about 15 hours to fully cremate a body, and bones don't burn.

This interrigator is nothing but the Reed Technique. Maybe it was an accident...yeah, me too. I'm just like you. I've got all the evidence. You don't know what I know. Get in front of this. Endlessly twisting words. And he just never shuts up! Relay your conversations with your brother and incriminate yourself. He's making my ears bleed. I'd just get up and go. Arrest me or I'm going to go.
@FathomlessJoy11 күн бұрын
And to this day they have zero evidence. That have some alleged confession from a crazy dude, but the confession involves at least 5 or 6 versions of the story and still doesn't implicate Brooks Houck or his brother here. In fact that "witness" (who is now a codefendant) was SO bad that the cops themselves rescinded his immunity deal because he kept changing his story and getting key facts wrong.
