Gianmaria è vero ciò che scrivi. ho provato pure io a cercare qualcosa su Nick Kamen oggi ma non si trova niente... a parte una foto di qualche anno fà che lo ritrae insieme ad un altro uomo in un locale di non si sà dove. l'ho trovata su Google. per il resto si narrava anni fà che non avendo più avuto successo come cantante si fosse ritirato a Parigi e facesse il pittore. Ma erano cose scritte da giornali poco affidabili. Quindi ufficialmente non si sà dove Nick Kamen viva e cosa faccia oggi. che fosse morto il fratello l'ho scoperto solo attraverso il web. Forse Madonna sà dove si trova ;-) scherzo...

Tu sei rientrato a casa - perchè è l'Eternità la vera dimensione dell'Uomo, basti pensare che è la Dimensione propria dell'Amore, che appunto non ha e non conosce età - prima di noi, ma sei vivo e questo è l'importante. Ci manchi, ci sei mancato dal quel 1993 quando hai scelto di ritirarti dal mondo della canzone, nel quale in pochissimi anni eri diventato un GRANDE prima ancora che un DIVO. Le Tue canzoni e i Tuoi videoclip sono tra le pochissime cose che hanno rallegrato la mia ultima infanzia e la mia adolescenza. Ti ringrazio di tutto questo. Sei sempre stato bellissimo, ma dal celeberrimo video pubblicitario dei jeans della Levi's a questa intervista sette anni dopo ti sei fatto ancora più bello, più affascinante, più intrigante, più sexy, e hai ampiamente dimostrato di essere un eccellente Cantante, e su questo la tua mentore, Veronica Louise "Madonna" Ciccone ha dimostrato di vederci e di sentirci più che bene. Lei non sbaglia mai un colpo, pure adesso che ha più di 60 anni! Gli anelli ti sono sempre piaciuti, e almeno quando ti mostravi in pubblico, o ti sei fatto fotografare, li hai sempre portati. Il tuo primo look da fighetto elegante adesso mi fa un po' sorridere, ma Nick Kamen è diventato un successo anche per quelle giacche a falde lunghe, le camice bianchissime aperte sulla perenne maglietta nera (della salute?) e i polsini sbottonati delle maniche lunghissime. Un gran bel fighetto. Ma a cantare sei arrivato decisamente al TOP del TOP. Poi hai cambiato la tua immagine: basta i capelli alla Elvis sparati in alto e con ciuffo immersi nel gel, ma prima un taglio cortissimo, poi te li sei lasciati ricrescere al naturale, come sei in questa intervista. Strabonazzo e Strasexy. Non ho mai capito perchè a "scoprirti" e a "lanciarti" come cantante sia stata Madonna. Tuo fratello maggiore Chester è un grande chitarrista, e anche tu Nick la chitarra la sai suonare molto ma molto bene, visto che hai imparato da Chester. Il tuo fratellone ha suonato e suona per grandi cantanti, basta andare su Wikipedia, e non sono mai riuscito a capire perchè non sia stato lui a capire le tue doti e qualità canore, sapevi anche suonare più che bene la chitarra visto che te lo ha insegnato proprio lui, e con tutte le conoscenze che aveva e che ha, invece di lasciarti fare il modello (una carriera brevissima ed effimera), io dico che doveva e poteva lanciarti benissimo Chester. Boh, mistero, che per me resterà tale. Voce Bellissima, Bellissimo Viso, elegante, raffinato in tutto, aggraziato, modesto, umile, refrattario allo star-system e allo show-business (la ragione per cui, all'apice della tua carriera, appena 31enne ti sei ritirato a fare il pittore, la tua grande passione assieme alla musica e alla canzone): tutto è OK, tutto è PERFETTO in Te. Non ci siamo mai incontrati di persona, ma anche questo problema, quando sarà il mio turno, verrà superato. Per ora Ti saluto. Ti porto nella mente e nel cuore, come ho fatto dal 1986 ad oggi. Such a patient young man amidst such vapid questions. I mean the way he really takes his time to answer them, either he was a really deep thinker, or it was just his way of stifling the disdain and contempt he must’ve surely had with the industry. I mean it seems to me that he clearly wanted to focus on his music, whereas the media/journalists (even 7 years on by this point) simply wanted to hark back and entomb him into an advert where he got his kit off, even though it was his big break. The other thing I notice in this interview, but more so in the one he did in 1988, was just how contemporary he looked, I mean he wouldn’t look out of place even in 2023 despite the two videos being shot 35 and 31 years ago respectively.

Intendo il modo in cui si prende davvero il suo tempo per rispondere, o era un pensatore davvero profondo, o era solo il suo modo di soffocare il disprezzo che doveva aver sicuramente avuto con l'industria. Voglio dire, mi sembra che volesse chiaramente concentrarsi sulla sua musica, mentre i media (anche dopo 7 anni a questo punto) volevano solo tornare indietro e seppellirlo in una pubblicità spogliando il suo kit, anche se era la sua grande occasione. L'altra cosa che ho notato in questa intervista, ma ancora di più in quella che ha fatto nel 1988, è stata quanto fosse contemporaneo, insomma non sembrerebbe fuori posto nemmeno nel 2023!

Quando vidi per la prima volta il viso ed il corpo di Nick Kamen nel video della canzone Tell me vidi nei suoi lineamenti una bellezza che mai avevo visto prima nel corpo di un uomo salvo un casi rari come Jim Morrison Sid Vicious Freddie Mercury Joe Tempest Steven Tyler Boy George George Michael Simon Le Bon Tony Hadley il suo sguardo luminoso ed il colore dei suoi occhi vivi visi che avevano molto del femminile da session man per questo quando ho appreso la morte di questo cantante è stato come un fulmine a ciel sereno poichè mi aspettavo che lui avrebbe avuto una gran bella e lunga vita pieno di donne e di successo che ha ottenuto seppure per pochi anni.P.s. riposa in pace Nick sei stato uno dei cantanti maschili piu' belli della musica pop anni 80 - 90 e non dico questo perchè mi sento attratto dagli uomini ma perchè bisogna riconoscere sempre le qualità di una persona sia esso uomo sia essa donna.

I'm 56 living in the UK and can remember the advert, of course, and his appearance on The Tube, and his flirting with Paula Yates, who else? I am surprised how good his music is. It has a lovely easy listening sound. One of his songs is very similar to careless whisper. The one where he is with Talia Soto in the video. I am wondering why he did not get the fame? Questa intervista non la conoscevo. Interessante da rivedere. Credo che sia stata una delle ultime che Nick Kamen abbia fatto prima di sparire. La canzone che si sente all'inizio è l'ultima che fece uscire sul mercato ma ebbe poco successo Italia compresa. Io la ricordo e mi piace molto. Ma dopo questo disco Nick Kamen sparì dalle scene. I imagine Madonna really dominated him. I very briefly met him when he was doing a record signing in HMV in Birmingham. My friend and I dashed there after school and queued up with all the other excited teenage girls. I can hardly believe this now but he signed the LP with gold marker pen and I got to kiss his cheek! He was wearing that suit he always used to wear and was behind the counter doing the signing.

Ma lui per me lo è ugualmente famoso... lo è stato qui sulla terra e lo sarà per sempre anche da lassù ! Nick mi manchi tantissimo.... sei stato il mio 1º amore e lo sarai per sempre perché uomini come te non ce ne sono più ! Tu eri un ragazzo splendido eccezionale fantastico meraviglioso dall'animo buono... eri un grande artista in tutto quello che facevi !
