It produces two substances, one is used to dye jeans, giving its typical purple/blue color, but the other one produces poison. So you have to be very careful which is which! And why was the Pharoah mentioned? Well probably also because of the indigo colour the flower gives.. In ancient Egypt, only one boat had a purple-dyed sail. It belonged to the Pharaoh and was a vibrant and powerful sign to other Nile users that they should move aside to let the royal boat pass. I am curious what else you all interpret of the lyrics!
