Greatest grand final ever, never have we seen two genuine killer teams put each other to the sword like that, Geelong and St Kilda were killers in 09 and the game was a tooth and nail fight.

Horrible, horrible day for Saints supporters. Collectively 97/09/10 has actually depleted my love of the game from the 2011 season onwards. Once it was finally reality that the Saints window was over it was quite depressing as a supporter. That group of players should have won a flag. I think 09 is the one that really did get away, so many blown opportunities in that game. 🔴⚪️⚫️

I feel you, my attendance really dropped off after about 2012, going to 1 or 2 games a year. But feeling that wave coming back up now with the kids coming through the club, there's something to it. Whether it's 2028, 2030, whenever we get over the hump, we are going to go absolutely mental! I think neutral fans would cry, let alone us.

Coming from a pies supporter since 06 the saints were a dangerous strong team in 08,09 and 10 should’ve 1 out of the 2 gfs I reckon

The Saints were clearly the best team that year and should have won yeah, but the Cats were an even better side in 2008 (and obviously lost as well). The Cats avenged their defeat in 2009, but the Saints couldn't quite do so in 2010. Can't help but feel a little sorry for all involved with the Saints that that group couldn’t quite win one in that era. They deserved to.
