Cute story. I worked as a home health pediatric nurse in Eastern Iowa. I worked 10 hour shifts which involved going to school on a school bus with my sweet patient. Nick, is this the Hartford Fair in Licking County Ohio? Small world because I live in Newark, OH which is also in Licking County. Im originally from outside the Cincinnati area, lived on Brown County and as a kid, our school would take a bus load of us to the Brown County Fair every year (the school would close half of that week because a large majority of the students came from farming families and would have allot of their livestock entered in the fair). They'd drive us there, then let us go see the sites and ride the rides, etc but tell us to get back at a specific time do we can load up and go home. This was back in the mid 70s, so no school could get by doing that now lol

We had that "haunted "ride at our County fair. It cost extra money to ride in a literal empty container . It was dark, that was it. Nothing lit up, nothing made an effort to scare us. It was such a waste!

This is so surreal to me; really good friends of mine grew up in Susquehanna, PA (they live in Apalachin, NY now (yes, apa lay can) and the Harford Fair is one of their family traditions and they were just at the Harford Fair last week with my nieces (7 & 5), so a celebrity I know* (YOU) goes to the same fair as my nieces! *ok, “know” might be a bit strong…know through KZbin??? lol

Back in the day when Fairs still had “Freak” sideshows, I was living in Vermont and saw a headless person sitting in a wheelchair and every once in a while the person’s right index finger would twitch. The story was they had been in a terrible accident and was being kept alive by a machine hooked up to their organs Unbelievable 😂
