Hand 1: Darren tries to bluff a guy who’s literally never folded a boat in his life Hand 2: Nick no equity floats turn and bluff raises the river small when he can’t rep much and has no blockers, somehow gets trips to fold. Hand 3: Nick way overplays his hand and gets Darren to make a tight but reasonable fold. Yeah he crushed em alright lol
@Stommpedk5 жыл бұрын
I don't really see how hand 3 is a reasonable fold from Darren... imo Darren's fold is worse than Dan's fold in hand 2. Sure he has straights a small % of the time, but he also has TONS of worse value hands and combo hands with the fd on the flop. He should never have a bigger set. I don't even think you can call it a nitty fold, I think it's just plain wrong.

exactly how the hands went down. that hand 2 was just mind-boggling fold by dan. darren i could understand the fold cuz of the straight and nick kind of played off that in his raise and an insurance since he has top 2 pair along with repping a straight.

Hand 3 folding bottom set to a single raise not exactly reasonable. Nick has AQ and Q9 of course as well as 10s and maybe once in a while a slow played KK. But think about all the hands Darren's ahead of. AJ d, QJ, KJ, Ax d, J10, J9, random flush draw hands like 78. He's flatting all those hands pre outta sb way more than 10s and certainly KKs. Deff 3 betting JJ a ton and AQ some of the time. That's a nitty fold

Having a hard time understanding the last fold. So Nick never 3-bets preflop, and has AQ, pocket TTs, and JJs in range. Even against just AQ, you have implied odds if you boat up.
@Missyzbeauty6 жыл бұрын
My question to you is. Do you think Nick is always 3 betting AQ and 10’s in the SB? From what I’ve seen the last year or so I don’t think so.

You don't understand implied odds. The stack to pot ratio means implied odds verses a straight are irrelevant given that you only improve 22% of the time.
@gavinasaurus6 жыл бұрын
If he knows that he's only against AQ then his thought process may be different but if he thinks nicks doing this with only AQ, 1010, and JJ then he's just completely dead. If he makes a boat it may not be good and if he calls the turn he has to call all rivers no matter what so he puts himself in a bad spot. If he shoves he's never getting called by worse. It's a tough spot with bottom set honestly.

Curious to know Nick's exact thought process. I believe in the last hand, NIck genuinely thinks his KJ two pair is good, hence to larger sizing. I don't think his intentions were to get a set to fold. Mainly to get draws to fold and making clear the absolute strength of his hand. The hand against Dan Smith, the ridiculously small sizing is mainly to get bluffs to fold, the small bet worked because he is stating that he has a flush, but not the best flush, hence doesn't wanna pot commit. Nick's bet should get called off very often for his 2.5x raise bet size. The first hand is the only hand, I think Nick truly crushed his opponents.

First hand good call 2nd hand was optimistic but I like it 3rd hand though you can't be proud of right? You over valued your hand so much that you somehow effectively turned top 2 into a bluff because you got a better hand to fold. Huge mistake and over valuing of your hand vs his range and got super lucky you ran into a player thinking on a high enough level to be able to fold a set because he gives you credit enough to know that your actual value range should be almost exclusively straights. Congrats again though for attempting to punt your stack and running into a player that mistook You for someone that had a clue

@commie224 жыл бұрын
Madmike1989 G Hello good sir. Just so you know, a set and trips are not the same thing. A set is achieved when a player makes three of a kind with a pocket pair and a matching community card. Trips occur when a player makes three of a kind from a pair on the board and a matching hole card. The equity usually varies quite a bit one vs. the other (set > trips), depending on board texture, hence the distinction in terminology. *RAINBOW WIPE* THE MORE YOU KNOW

I disagree with the title. Yay he won a pot. Except if you look at their stacks Nick starts with about $40k and Darren $20k. Then on the last hand Darren is now up to $57k and Nick is down to $20k. Still nice that he got the best of two pros in a few hands but Both those guys... and especially Dan are smart enough to know who is shipping the cash and are looking for the spot to stack everybody. I don’t think it’s a crazy fold, uncommon. The lines on each hand Nick took was kind of all over. Still exciting and I love watching. Keep me coming?

I really don't understand Dan's thought process there. UTG +1 raise, it's unlikely Nick has 22, 44, A5, A3, only plausible hand is KK but that doesn't check flop with 2 spades out there, and float turn imo. I guess maybe any spade combo would take Nicks line, something like J10 or 9 10 spades
@johnnyb55346 жыл бұрын
I think the fact that it was a value sized raise messed with his head a little bit. I mean the fold kind of makes sense. Why would Nick raise such a small amount if he didn't have it? He's asking to get called. How often does a value sized raise work after your opponent bets turn and river. Probably less than 25%. And you're forgetting that the spades hit. Not saying it wasn't a bad fold, considering the odds, but it's not a huge blunder or anything.

Why does he fold a set of 4's? Nick called in the SB, so he never has pocket 10's, J's or K's. So he is never losing to a bigger set. Always the only then next hands he loses to is a gut shot straight, AQ or Q9. AQ would3bet most likely, and Q9 is literally the only reasonable hand that he could have you beat with.
