Thank you all for tuning in. This was absolutely the most challenging project I've taken on for this channel. I've spent several months on this project while also traveling for our honeymoon and closing on our first home. I appreciate all the love and support, especially all of those who helped throughout this project. Jordan Mechner provided lots of helpful information, archival content and is just an all-around cool guy. I read through all his books, and highly recommend his most recent graphic novel: REPLAY, available now on Amazon. While I spent a considerable amount of time on this project, I anticipate small errors throughout. I do all this work solo, so little things always slip through the cracks. So, if there's any inaccuracy or mistake, feel free to let me know, and I'll add it to this pinned comment

This was a great video Nick930 😁 There was so much I didn't know about the series as a whole and it was enlightening to hear the journey of Prince of Persia. I remember the Sands of Time trilogy the most fondest, but with completing The Lost Crown this year I'm glad that we get a new take and perspective of the series and I know that this will be my game of the year 🙌

Here’s to more documentaries and comparisons in the future.

its incredible how much detail you could put in this documentary in just 4 hours, proving that u truly understand what you're doing. I say have a break and do some comparing before another big project like this ( possibly a silent hill 2 remake vs original ). But if u every have an itch for something larger, you could always do that dead space or a silent hill documentary( now that the remake is out). But for now, all i can do is thank u for this video😀🤩😍

Such a bummer for you that this ended up releasing on the heels of the studio that created the phenomenal Lost Crown game being disbanded. What a crappy way from Ubi to celebrate the 35th anniversary with deflating news despite the game being an all-timer Metroidvania of the highest caliber. What a fantastic documentary though. So much effort and polish going into it. Inspirational. Thanks for the hard work you put into this.

Hope after AC Shadows and a few of the Ubi remakes come out, they reconsider and let the Lost Crown team come together again for another banger of a PoP game.

At 50 years old, I literally played every single one of these in chronological order. From the first game on my IBM PC, to the very first disappointing 3d entry(I remember being really bummed out after buying Prince Of Persia 3d and booting it up for the first time), to the amazing ports of the original on SNES and Turbo-CD, the groundbreaking Sands Of Time series, and the newest in the series and everything inbetween. I got a chance to finally meet Jordan Mechner in 2010 at a GDC he attended and gave a talk and completely geeked out on him.

I got into this franchise from the Warrior Within because I love me some god damn but rock lol. I did back then as a 10 year old, and I definitely still do now. I know some people just cringe at it, but I love the nostalgia of that early 00’s dark gritty era. I never got sick of it, and even today I still listen to a lot of those band stuff, though I’ll admit Godsmack is not one of them but I do still love their singles from back then. Anyway, love PoP. Looking forward to the remake, absolute shame what happened to the studio who did the recent title, but I am hoping this franchise continues to randomly pop up in different iterations for future generations. I think this is a franchise that should always be around in some way shape or form.

As an Iranian/Persian, Thank You for making a game about my culture, however it had many faults with its inspiration, as mostly it wasn't Persian at all, Persians are Indo Europeans, and the language Persian, has a lot of similarities with English and Spanish. Our history and culture is SOOOO DEEP, that if you put down those arabic inspirations and picked up an actual Persian book, you would have been amazed. But I understand different times and restrictions of Information. Thank You for everything, you broke the greek propaganda machine that is still rampant to this day and modern nations just follow it.

One of THE best franchise in all of gaming history, During my childhood, i did not have that powerful computer so when the POP: Sands of Time was released, it required hardware TnL graphics card. What followed was so many memories of running around and rewinding the sands of time.
