For those who are saying that the 14 PLUS is bad, and are criticizing those who bought it, you aren’t in that persons shoes, not everyone is able to pay an extra $200 more just to get more features, they just want a phone that works. also, you can’t always trust refurbish, either, and not everyone wants to buy their phone directly from Apple. yes, even though the 13 promax is a better choice, the average person isn’t going to use or doesn’t care about all of those pro features, you’re only saying that it’s a bad phone because you are looking at it from the perspective of a pro user, next time before you criticize somebody for buying this phone put yourself in their shoes, look at things from their point of view.

My family upgraded me from an iPhone XR to the Plus & I am very happy with it. I am not a KZbin content creator, I am a cancer patient who basically leaves the house only for medical care. My old eyes love the bigger screen. I got the Lilac as my XR was Product Red & I wanted a change. I love how it feels in my hand & the battery life is wonderful. I didn’t want to deal with a used 13PM & wanted AppleCare. If a 14PM fits your needs, great! Please don’t belittle me for choosing a phone that meets my needs. ❤

I still think it's a great phone for a normal user plus it's the last ip series that comes with a glossy back finish, something my mom always wanted. I'm pretty sure she's going to love it. I don't belittle you or anyone wanting to buy this phone because we all have our own budget.

Hi Nick, I bought the 14plus. I actually love it. I initially wanted the 13 pro max but it was unavailable unlocked in the places I went. I was able to play with the device in a store and I fell in love with it and decided to purchase it. For me, a lot of the Pro features I will never use so the plus just checks off all the things I needed . Thanks for the review of the plus, it was awesome.

I’m glad you mentioned the battery life upgrade. Many KZbinrs aren’t taking about the 14+ actually having better battery life than the 14PM it’s almost like they don’t want to share that information. Appreciate you man.

The improvement is not significant as pro runs on ltpo 120hz and plus runs on 60hz I wish there is a battery test of both running on 60hz

I upgraded to this phone from an iPhone 8 Plus. And it’s been pretty great so far. Had a bit of trouble converting to eSIM at first but other wise my experience with this phone has been great!

@@empire225 for some reason I couldn’t convert to eSIM through settings when I first setup the phone. I have Verizon and apparently they don’t support that yet. So I had to call them and have them manually transfer my number and info to eSIM on my new phone. Nothing too bad just unfortunate that the easy way to do it didn’t work

Coming from a Pixel 6 this was a nice step up. The screen is superb, it’s bright, large, and the image quality is amazing. The battery after two days seems very promising. I love how fast the phone is, how premium it feels in your hand,and the IOS user experience. With the clear Apple MagSafe case, the Belkin screen protector, and the Belkin MagSafe car mount for the vents, I’m all set to enjoy some seriously quality hardware. Full thumbs up for the 14 Plus from me.

If your Momma, Grandma, or Aunty have an iPhone 6S or lower this is the phone to buy them for Christmas. They wont miss the fancy display or Cameras on the Pros but will appreciate the larger screen and 2-3 day battery life.

i am upgrading from a 7 Plus with 32 gigs. I would have gotten a 13 Pro Max if there were any to be had with my carrier. For me this is like going from a 10 speed bike to a Harley. I don't need many of the features anyway and so far beyond satisfied.

Let me tell you, migrating to esim isn't always fast and easy. I recently switched to esim here in my home country the Philippines because i want to use the physical sim card slot for another carrier, and it took me 30 minutes to do it in their store. They sont allow you do do it on your own. They have to be the one to do it for you. I am so glad that iPhones here still get a physical sim slot.

You do it once every four years, not a hardship, and my experience was much better, about 5 mins. So, maybe your carrier needs to get their act together and hopefully Apple forcing the issue will motivate them.

Hello, I also did the switch from a physical sim to esim with the iPhone 14. Coming from an iPhone 12 Mini this was not a hustle, basically the phone did it for me in the initial setup screen. I was ask if i want to migrate my sim and along with my other data and then within seconds i got my cellular service on the new phone. Maybe your carrier will adopt this service also in the future :)

The lightness of the phone make a huge difference, I prefer this model because of that alone. I’m just not sure if I can adjust to the plus size in my hand, even though I want the big screen.

The 13 pro max is also still $100 more than the 14 plus. I have the 14 plus and that difference is what made my decision. Especially since I wanted a 256gb phone so in the end, I went with what I needed vs just having extra features just because they sound cool. Coming from the XR, this is such a great jump. If you’re coming from a pro model phone…why wouldn’t you get the next pro model lol.

I've had the Plus for two days now and love it. For the nimrods who keep on saying "duuurrr you shoulda just bought a 13 Pro duuurr", if I wanted a 13 Pro I would have bought one last year. Didn't want it then, don't want it now. I have zero need for the telephoto camera and I have a Pixel 6 with a 90 Hz refresh rate and literally put it right next to my Plus and can hardly see any difference at all. Scrolling isn't all you do on a phone dontchaknow, you also watch videos, answer mail, etc, etc, higher refresh rates simply don't matter there at all. You still get among the best screens out there with excellent colors and a great experience overall, period. To say otherwise would mean you 13 Pro fanatics would be insulting yourselves because it's the same screen minus the 120 Hz refresh rate.......

Well I know plenty of people who opted for the 13 Pro or Pro Max instead of this phone and are way happier with it. If the 14 Plus was $150 or even $100 cheaper than it currently is, I’d definitely recommend it over the Pro models

IMO this is the phone I'm going to this year. I used to have an iPhone 12 but currently use a Pixel 5. This phone gives off the same vibe that the XR did, where when the XR came out, it had a bigger screen, but people originally said not to get it cause it didn't have the same screen as the XS and XS max, and only one camera lens. But then it ended up being the favorite because the LCD display wasn't bad at all, and the battery life was better, too. I never had pro motion, so refresh rate isn't a factor. I think 14 plus would be better to have over the 13 pro and pro max cause it's got a similar camera, chip set, and you get another year of updates.

My opinion is if Apple was going to cut corners on the 14 and 14 Plus, they should’ve dropped the prices to reflect it being inferior to the 14 pro and pro max models. If Apple wanted these to be a value they should have charged $599 for the 14 and $699 for the 14 Plus. Because for all intents and purposes, the non pro 14 models are updated 13’s. To me it just doesn’t make any business sense to charge almost pro model prices for phones that lack the newest processor, dynamic island, pro motion, always on display, and the higher nits of brightness. Those are features for the prices Apple charges should have been included. At the very least we should’ve gotten the a16 bionic chip.

Lack of ProMotion was actually a selling point for me. And it drives me nuts that every time I say I plan to buy a 14 plus a bunch of people swoop in and tell me to buy a used 13 pro max instead. Cost isn't the issue, and I don't just want the biggest phone either- my eyes are very sensitive and ProMotion gives me motion sickness. I already have a 13 pro and I feel nauseuous and headachey every time I use it. Turning ProMotion off doesn't fix the problem either, it just limits the variable refresh rate UP TO 60hz. That issue isn't present with the 14 and 14 plus, and buying a used 13 isn't very appealing b/c the 14s have 2gb more RAM this year along with the 13 pro SOC(more GPU cores than standard A15). The 14 is a phone I can use comfortably and the battery life of the plus makes the choice very easy.

How is lack of promotion a selling point dude? The 14 Pro Max has it and in some ways (not all of course) has better battery performance than this phone, and it’s only $200 more. That may sound like a lot, but if you’re already paying $900 for this phone (possibly more if you want more storage), you can save up $200 more for the pro max.

I’ve got an iPhone 14 plus 128GB. I got it from Amazon where it was cheaper than Apple they also had 5% off on top of that. I really like the phone. I love the yellow colour, and the battery life is great. Upgraded from a 13 mini so much bigger screen but soon got used to it. I do like the fact mine still has a physical sim tray (I’m in UK)

I have the XR for 7 months for about $150 dollars for a refurbished one. After a few months, I’ve notice my battery and starting to regret getting it. I was thinking of giving my mom my XR because she has the 7 and her battery capacity is 68%. I was debating on the iPhone 14 plus and pro and I might get the pro but who knows.

I could’ve bought a 14 pro max but didn’t need it.That island thing is nothing but a gimmick don’t need a camera that can see the craters of the moon,my S22 Ultra does that,don’t need a 120 refresh rate either the 60 is fine and that’s coming from my Ultra and the oneplus 10 pro.Quit listening to tech reviews saying you need to do this or that do what you feel is best for you

Great Review I updated from the IPHONE 11 to IPHONE 14 Plus and notice a Hugh difference in battery and performance. also it's great you said about making phone calls I had a similar experience. also be beware when upgrading from IPHONE 11 the lighting lead in new box will not work with old charger.

Can I remind anyone that says the iPhone 14 and 14 plus is a rip-off remember the iPhone X r when it come out that was a rip-off and it went on to be the best selling iPhone have that year everybody every year says the iPhone SE it’s an old style. It’s a rip-off every year it’s one of apples best seller it all comes down to what you need the phone for may you want one for your children your not going to get them a pro maybe you just want a secondary phone, maybe for Work maybe you are a person of the older generation and the iPhone 14 pro and pro max your not bothered about three cameras, and you not bothered, about 120 hurts screens or maybe you are just someone who needs a new phone but does not want a preowned phone but money is tight and at the end of the day extra 200 dollars when money is tight is still a lot of money to spend when you don’t have it so don’t say 14 and the 14 plus is a rip off because you are not in that persons situation and to them they are proud because they saved up and got the latest iPhone

I do agree, the biggest problem with this phone is the price. If the 14 started at $699 and the Plus $799 that would be so much better and more justified. As it stands right now, they’re charging almost as much as a small Pro phone

That’s what I use but heads up, the brick gets hot. I have the 20 watt Apple charger also and when I use that one the phone gets hot. lol.

Don’t use a 5W charger man, 20W is not gonna destroy your battery like everyone says. Just don’t charge it to 100% all the time and you’ll get a decent lifespan out of the phone

I have the 128 but wish I had had 512. I used to be a Samsung person. I just recently went over to iPhone. The only reason I have a iPhone is my sister bought me one as a present. another two years I might just go back to Samsung. I'm old in my late 60s and nobody in my family lived passed their 70s so I don't worry about the best iPhone I can get. Thank you for the video.

It's pricey at $900 usd but reminds me of my last iPhone the XR. If the new SE is an 11 or XR body with 5G then that's more tempting to me b/c switching from Android if it's ~ 500usd. On its own though if I had to buy an iPhone today, I think I'd get the 14+ I like it!

In my country, the iphone 14 pro max 128 GB is 1735 euros. As for the iPhone 14 plus 128 GB, it is 1380 euros,I think that's too much . That's the price of the S 22 ultra with 256 GB. As much as I love the iPhone, can anyone in their right mind take the iPhone 14 Plus next to the S 22 Ultra. (by the way, it currently comes with Samsung earbuds 2 for free). I don't like Samsung, but I'm just being realistic.

I did the same. Had the 14 pro. It was having some glitching but nothing bad. I switch to 14 plus, I got to pick the colour and instead of 128gb I got 512gb. This phone will last me way longer and it works perfect. It’s my phone. I love it.

I never understood the comparisons like “it’s only $100 more for the Pro” or “you’re already paying as much as the Pro if you get the 256gb model”. Yeah, you’re paying the same price for a 256gb iPhone 14 Plus as you’d pay for a 128gb iPhone 14 Pro. The second one is NOT a better phone just because it has Pro in the name though. It’s got a better display, better cameras, and dynamic island, while the first has a bigger battery, bigger screen, smaller storage, and a thinner form factor because of that smaller camera bump, plus it’s STILL lighter despite the larger frame. If you have $1000 to spend on your phone, and you’d rather have the Plus features than the Pro features, get the Plus. It’s that simple. If you want the Pro model on top of the larger phone and storage, it’s an extra $200, same as it would be to buy a baseline Pro versus a baseline 14.

I would choose Iphone 13 pro and pro Max over Iphone 14 plus. but for Iphone 6 plus, 6s plus, 7 plus, 8 plus, XR, 11, 12(Maybe). This is a significant upgrade! but for Iphone 11 pro, 11 pro Max heck even 12 pro and 12 pro max users. This is a downgrade.

At least both the 8 and 8 Plus from 2017 had the same bionic chip like the iphone X compared to both the iphone 14 and 14 Plus have last years bionic chip. I have been leaning towards the iphone 14 Plus but the iphone 13 Pro Max and even the Google Pixel 7 Pro both phones are compelling. Can get the 14 Pro not big but not going to be shortchanged owing the base models

For $900, you can either get a 13 Pro Max, or a high end laptop from 2020 or 2021. Even for the average consumer who doesn’t care for the pro features, this phone is an absolutely atrocious deal (at least in the US, ik the prices are different overseas)

Apple are crafty they took out the iphone 13 pro max out their line up because they know people would pick it over the 14 plus because it would be cheaper so they put the same phone as it in their line up to keep the price high. Youre better off spending big to get the pro medels or buy a second hand 13 pro max with a decent battery

I was checking this one against the 14 promax at the local Apple Store yesterday. Why? I had a brand new plus I was planning to return. I’d already seen the promax separately, and I was familiar with its improvements. Yes, the promax is heavier, but with the weight distributed over a larger device, I didn’t find the difference as noticeable as I was imagining. So, I returned the unopened plus. Also, can we quit talking about “zooming” like it’s unique? What you’re doing is switching (optically) between set focal lengths and digitally via incremental adjustments. The iPhone 14/plus is essentially the same as all non-pro, two-camera iPhones in this respect. If you want a serious camera experience, the plus doesn’t come close. Trade offs as usual. Pro overall performance vs. plus battery/weight advantages. I couldn’t justify going from the 11 to the 14 plus just for these two improvements, not when the camera(s) would be virtually the same. So, I’m now waiting for a promax. I know that I’ll be happier for longer with the cameras, and promotion is the footprint for the future. I agree with Nick: the 14/14plus is overpriced.
