Looks really easy to bend on a crash (especially if it hits the battery). I have bent many folded cell packs (hence now mounting my batteries sideways in all my whoops) but this looks very vulnerable with that length

This might be interesting to try with my Meteor Pro65 with the 35mm props. If I try just for run time with easy flights on a tattu 300mah I can easily get 4:30 as these 35mm props seem to really raise the efficiency. Interesting video Nick and thanks.
@NickBurnsFPV9 күн бұрын
yes, generally as prop size increases so does the efficiency. With the 35mm props it will also handle the weight of the xl90 better.

I run regular 450mah batteries on 65mpros and they are fantastic if you’re 250000kv or higher motors

@@Shauny_D Very interesting. I am still stuck on stock motors but now you have got me thinking. What motors do you use on your Meteor 65pro?

@ 25000kv 0802 is my preferred but those are pretty hard on the 300mah batteries. I have a 19000kv one still that i can do a lot with but definitely miss the extra umf of 25000

@midnitejesus9 күн бұрын
Good idea! I live in a cold place too. The added capacity could make up for the loss of flight time in the cold.

Do you have a picture of them installed in the whoops? Also be interested in a flight time comparison at your normal pace. Great content!
@NickBurnsFPV9 күн бұрын
No picture. But I can see that the length of the battery connection could be an issue to keep the battery in the CG. I tend to use a fair bit of forward bias for my battery mounting. Rarely fly backwards for more than a moment.

I am flying 65mm in all the flight samples, so yes, it will require a bit more throttle but your M6 should be fine.

Call me crazy but I’ve been using my 550 batteries on my air75 with 5min fly times respectively. Tight fit but seemed fine to me. I do feel the weight compared to my 300 but I’m still to much of a rookie for it to personally effect me
@NickBurnsFPV9 күн бұрын
With a 75mm whoop the battery tray will natively fit larger batteries. This isn't true of the 65mm whoops, the battery tray on these are natively for the 300mah size of battery.

I would get these to make better 2s batteries. I've noticed that running 2 1s 300mah in series with an adapter work better (less voltage sag, more flight time) than regular 300-350mah 2s lipos. Might be a better option than the 1s 450-550mah lipos I've been using on my 75s. Nick, please show a comparison between these batteries and the traditional 450-550mah 1s on the Mob7 HDZero. Please, with sugar on top?

I use the hdzero goggles with the rapidfire module. I cover my analog video setup, link in the video description. I also use the radiomaster zorro remote. But there are so many options, depends on budget and preferred style.

dont know if its worth tho, if my math isnt wrong its not even 50% more flight time even tho they have 50% more mah. the handling has to be worse too so im gonna skip these
@NickBurnsFPV9 күн бұрын
Weight, as weight increases we have to use more motor rpm to produce the thrust and with that we use more battery mah. Handling in a slower flat style is impacted yes, but its very minor in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't try to freestyle or go fast.
@FPVYeti9 күн бұрын
The amount of flight time won’t be directly linear in its relation to the size of a battery. A heavier battery is gonna require more power to carry, and therefore won’t be as efficient for flying. You will get longer flight times as it’s a bigger battery, but the flights will also drain the battery faster. Going up in battery size to get longer flight times is kind of like 2 steps forward and one step back. You’re still getting longer flight times but not to the extent you might think. You’re also getting worse flight performance by going up in battery size. On the flip side, by going down in battery size, you’re getting a more efficient quad that flies faster and is more agile. However, the flight times simply just won’t be as long. For this reason, one good method for choosing the right battery for your quad is to start by deciding how much flight time you need and then choosing the smallest battery that will get you that flight time. Any extra flight time above what you need is going to impair handling, speed, and efficiency. The extra flight time you’re getting is gonna be a diminished return. This is true across the board. It’s not a situation where it’s like “if you go above 300mah you get a diminished return”. No, any size you do is getting diminished returns. If you could get a 100mah battery, it would be more efficient and offer better handling than a 300mah. Going up to even 300mah has diminished returns. Of course, if you could get your hands on a 100mah, the flight times would be so short that it wouldn’t be a practical battery to use. So that’s not to say lower is always inherently better. It really is just recognizing that any amount of mah you’re getting is at a diminished return, and so being strategic about how much flight time you need and pairing up the right battery for that, no more and no less. Hopefully that makes sense!
