bought this game last year. played it a bit then moved on. back playing again and finding your how-to/where-to vids very useful..Bravo!! not using the ZP, but most if not all the lifepods you find are near enough to important places. like this one, the entrance to the Lost River biome is just a bit away from lifepod 2. i use those as my waypoint markers till i can set a beacon

I remember going down to the Lost River with my Seamoth which I call "Deep Cherry" loaded with the highest level crush depth mod and just finding these big pointy rocks. A shame I didn't know you could harvest them and find Crystaline Sulfur in the streams. You are a big help Landis.

I highly suggest people to use sonar upgrade module for cyclops since it'll help you in dark or cave systems by giving you the 3D model of your surroundings. You can even detect leviathan class creatures from far.

Thanks for the guide man, came in the spot and to the giant leviathan skeleton with my cyclops with empty 36 wall lockers and 8 standing lockers and came back up to base near grassy plateaus with lockers, prawn suit storage and personal storage full of mats after 3 hrs of grinding. Really appreciate the guide!

I know I'm late. But it's such a great guide. I made it there and grabbed so much nickel and sulfur I also killed the ghost leviathan with my knife and stasis rifle. I explored for ages and then I realised that I left my engine on on my cyclops. When I went back it had 0 power. Rip cyclops. However I equipped my grapple arm and made it out with 2 lockers full of nickel and sulfur. Cheers

Thank you Landis! It was a bit unnerving going in there the first time, and I doubt I would have found this very easily without your video. I found that I could not venture in quite as far as you did, but close enough. From there, I exited, used the Prawn Suit, and found Uranite to mine, along with Chrstalline Sulfur and Nickle. There was also Lithium and Titanium to mine there with the suit arm as well. I breathed a great sigh of relief when I finally was headed to the surface. Again, many thanks to you.

WOW. What a journey. Thanks! Here’s the story if you’re interested: So, I found the entrance. I went down deep, and was chased even deeper by a worm like electric creature (btw sorry idk their names) and I found the entrance- only to be chased into the lost river by a crab/squid like creature that attacked my cyclops, too. It had a big head and the head was transparent too, lol. So I found the BIG, old leviathan fossil, only to be charged by a ๖ۣۜǤнσsτ༻ LEVIATHAN in between the head and back part of the remains. Found 4/6 nickel ore :(. But, the worst part about this, is when I went to eject with my PRAWN EXO SUIT, I realized, I packed my SEAMOTH and forgot to switch! So I quickly brought my seamoth back into the cyclops before it got crushed from the pressure (700-800 meters w/stock 200 meter crush depth.) OOF. Hehe, I even took a screenshot of the ๖ۣۜǤнσsτ༻ Leviathan. LOL! I love your content btw! Thanks for the awesome videos!

"nothing dangerous down there" I got attacked by 3 Reapers, 2 Warpers, 1 Ghost (which you manchened), 2 Zappy boys and I couldn't swim there because of bonesharks. they changed a lot till 2018

@@LandisPlays I can agree that maybe I was unlucky, but the first reaper attacked me at the start of the canyon, the second one at the end and then one when I was returning home. I saw 2 warpers next to the entrence to the lost river and 2 of those zappy boys which attracted my cyclops. When I went into the deep grand reef, there I met the ghost, so I abborded the attempt, next try I met 1 reaper and warpers, but I went into the lost river and saw some bone sharks. I took the entrence underneath the island and just met 2 of these gigantic gell fish type things which somehow weren't dangerous to me. So I wouldn't recommend the entrence you chose, but anyhow I want to thank you for your videos, they are always helpful. I didn't know where to find these resources.

Also once you find blood oil you can farm it in exterior growbeds.

I followed every step that you were doing and i got the materials, thank you! And when i tried to get back to my base, i went straight up and i found myself somewhere strange, a place i haven't seen because it was night at the moment, so i started driving to my base and something told me. This biome, Is THIS THE MOUNTAINS BIOME?! And straight after my brain said that. PDA: Detecting multiple leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever your doing is worth it? And i just started freaking out and slowly started moving to my base. Wich was 800-900 meters away from me, but luckily, i got back to my base. I..was..terrified.

I tried this half asleep & my mild claustrophobia kicked in - not your fault, I had just got the Cyclops & felt a bit pissy Got totally disorientated & somehow got my sub into the Bone Field on 8% power - Couldn't find my way out despite a couple of beacons - I was utterly failing as a Cyclops pilot & need to do a bit more practice Fortunately I hadn't saved for a while, which is usually my undoing ;-P One ragequit & I was fine, if 54 minutes and some degree of confidence worse off Next time, recon by either a suicide run in a second spare Seamoth or lots of camera work first, then a big box of power cells

I would definitely advice using the seamoth for the first trip to the lost river, although it’s straight forward once you get used to it, it’s so well designed it seems like a massive labyrinth when your new to it.

Landis I don’t use the zero point(because I’m too lazy to put a beacon at the zero point) so instead I just go to the coordinates. I made it to the area and got what I wanted then got lost while getting back to the cyclops and then poof, leviathan appeared and tried to destroy my Prawn,lol.

Question: what's the best/easiest way to deal with the ghost leviathans in the cyclops? The decoys don't seem to do a whole lot if you're under attack. The shield helps, but only if you have the blueprint. There has to be a better way than just going silent and hoping you don't take too much damage. I'm specifically talking about the one past the disease research facility guarding the big vertical shaft that goes directly down to the lava zone. Any suggestions for that?

Remember you can (up to) double the storage of your prawn with extra modules, but you do need the depth modules when going to the active lava zones and the improved jets help alot, also remember you can always add mods on the go for instance I always keep a grapple arm on my character to put on the prawn if I need it

great tips ! i find it much easier if you go there first with the Seamoth and lay some Beacons. the go back to the base and bring back the Cyclops/Prawn Suit, following the Beacons.

Landis, if you press the F3 key you will get a readout on the screen and it will give you your coordinates for where you are. This helps because you are not giving your starting point outside of showing the Aurora out the front window. Use the "Camera Position" line in the readout.

So what I would recommend is that you park the cyclops our of the trench, it is a nightmare to get it out of there, after that you go down to a wreck at the 600m point, you then head south east of the wreck and find the area shown in the video, after grabbing the resources you need you get out there and then you can either do the safe but sort a confusing way which is following your path back to the cyclops, or you could just wing and attach a grappling arm and just do a long process or grappling and boosting up till your out of the trench, this may end you up in the dunes with Warpers, but you can Probably walk 50 meters back to the cyclops, other than that the location is great!

Hey you can unload the prawn suit from the vehicle bay in the Cyclops, saves the trips back and forth, especially if you stack container upgrades on it
