This band is the clearest example of how recording labels, radio conglomerates and marketing campaigns dictate "Popular Music". The argument that anyone local has more creativity solely by virtue of being unsuccessful doesn’t make any sense. But the band thanks you because the snotty critics over the years have contributed significantly to the band’s relevancy. If being boring and formulaic makes them sell-outs enough to make them multimillionaires, they are at minimum smarter than their critics. But being the 11th best selling musical act of all time might possibility indicate a level of musical talent most others aren’t creative enough to match if they tried.
