Once, it was hating on Rock 'n' Roll when it first started. It was going to warp young peoples minds. Then onto heavy metal. Then you got people hating on opposing similar styles of music. From The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, to Oasis and Blur. Fans all too often pitted one band against another. Guitarists were shamed and degraded when they began to plug in their guitars to amps. People hated on syth pop and such, when it first started. They claimed that anything that did not come from an actual instrument, was not music. I could go on. The point I'm making is, people have long hated certain things about music styles, certain bands, and so on. Hating on Nickelback for the sake of hating, just became a part of the entire sphere in hating on music for one reason or another.
