As an adult rewatching the series i realize just what a complex cgaracter Helga actually is. -Despite her crude demeanor she's actually one of the smartest students in class - She has opinions on sophisticated art and poetry (as shown in "Helga on the couch") - She's completely self-aware about the paradoxical nature of her love-hate for Arnold yet she's powerless to do anything about it. Over the course of the series she learns that she doesn't want to let it go yet doesn't want to confess and willingly accepts the status quo. - She can be beautiful and elegant but chooses not to because she doesn't feel like proving anything to anybody. - She does stand-up and displays remarkable acting and public speech skills. - Her bully persona is not just a lie she tells the world, it's actually who she is. She's a natural leader and a no-nonsense type of gal, a trait she probably took up from Bob. I fully believe that Helga has solid chances of becoming a president, no wonder she dreams about it.
