I don't think Nikki was begging. I think she was stating that her style influence and Lil Kim's influence reached the masses. While vogue puts on Kim Kardashian, Lil Kim was rocking that style 30 years ago. It's only when the white women/audience embrace it, then it becomes a trend. However, white folks have been doing this shit for years. Remember black people invented almost all genres of music. Yet where is the credit?

@@joycecunningham8785 I agree! From experience, and it's not all Black businesses. However, many of them need to conduct themselves like businesses. Our people sometimes think they can just run things the way they want. Business models exist for a reason and the more successful people use and follow them to some degree. I went into a black-owned salon, and 3 chairs were empty, but nobody could take me. Walk into a non-black-owned salon, and all chairs were full, but they still fit me in. little things like that get around, and word of mouth is how places get patrons most times. We do have to give the people something to support.

By the way Q, Nicki Minaj is headlining at Essence Fest this year. I loved how AL touched on the Nicki topic as well. Nicki has done Vogue! She just hasn’t been on US Vogue! She never once begged! She simply acknowledged Vogue’s problematic history in regards to Black Influence. Also Anna Wintor loves & I mean loves Nicki Minaj! Q’s outlook represents journalism where the journalists doesn’t do proper research & actually listens to the topic that was discussed. Umm hello somebody....say it for the ppl in the back please....cause what I heard was a sugar coated response...me and Kim should've been on vogue but still hasn't given credit to some of her bars that she used, the barbie aesthetic, the fashion, the hair still to this day, we can't sit here and say lil kim took from Madonna, so what?.. that lady is a white pop singer not a black hip hop artist, there's a difference....lil kim is the mother of every female rapper after her in the 90s& 2000s and nicki is the mother of all the female rappers of 2010 and on, and she still isn't saying any of that, ppl wanna hear what they wanna hear out of nickis mouth but not really listening to what's she saying
