I feel like free-styling is not easy for someone in mainstream because they have so many things going on, so they write it down, I’ve done a fire freestyle before and forget it because I didn’t write it down, I’m still pissed about it, but now I just write everything down even if it’s just a bar, come back around and finish it when I have time.

(Similar to a remix but without the featured artist) I.e. if Doja Cat did a “remix” to Boss Ass B!tch and used this exact beat, borrowed a couple of flows and cadences, but used her own words, it would be called “Doja Cat - Boss Ass B!tch Freestyle”. The artists is free-styling a new version.
