Hi, I'm 15 and I was in your same boat. What I would reccomend because it really helped me was the Youversion Bible app! You can try different translations and do devotionals. If you have a friend to do devotionals with you it helps. Its all free too. It takes a minute to find all of the features on it, but its so nice. Also, if you can, a study bible is really great, like Nikki said. I have the Starting Place NIV study bible and I love it!

Hello and I'm so glad to come across this video even though it was' 3 years ago. I'm 63 years young and getting into Bible study and was struggling how to even begin. Thank you so much for breaking it down so I could understand it. I grew up in church and attended some throughout my life but now it feels different in an amazing way. I just ordered my first Bible and am so excited to begin my journey. Re-turning beginner at 36. I studied a little in my early teens at youth church, but have never had a real understanding. Hey Nicki!!!! I have a Bible reading chart I found that I printed off. Luckily I made more than one copy because I can't find it anywhere. I like the Everyday Bible by Guideposts, not sure what translation it is, but it is really easy to read. And the font size is big enough. That's the problem with most Bibles, I can't read them. The ESV scripture bibles are just big enough for me to read. I'm 41, and it's harder for me to read. I'm farsighted, so for the past 7 years its been harder for me to read. E-readers help me out a LOT.

Has any KZbinr done a comparison review between the NEB (New English Bible) translation and the CEB (Common English Bible)? What about the NLT? Is it the same as either the NEB or CEB? Once we know what is different within those 3, which would you prefer? Why? Do they lose "specific-ness"? Sometimes a "more readable" bible will be worded more general or bland or less specific.

Find characters in the Bible that she can relate with and read with her about the. Then you could ask reflection questions and see what she thinks of the character, etc. Hope that helps. I have adhd as well. Short bits of bible reading at one time helps me a lot.

I've got the KJV, ESV, and CSB. The KJV is all I had til last year. My mother always told me that Kjv is the only true Bible but it's so hard for me to read & understand. I would sit & try to read & understand but always got so frustrated & overwhelmed that I would give up. That went on til I was 35. I finally decided to try others & so glad I did!
