Making the perfect Oscar speech is tough. Even if you’ve mentally rehearsed the speech for years, there are so many people to thank.
Some, like Joe Pesci, have opted to keep their speeches extremely short, while others have gone on a bit and made some people wonder what was going on. On occasion, a star will make the audience outright uncomfortable, although, in the case of a few winners, that was their goal.
From the recent infamous Best Picture mix-up to the controversial director who received a lifetime achievement award, let’s take a look at some of the most uncomfortable Oscar speeches of all time.

@12345grov Well the way I see it, he gave voice to someone to speak for their own comunity. He didn't put a gun to her head and make her do it, he simply gave her the chance, and she took it. I think you're being more disrespectful to her by implying that she was not capable enough to decide for herself and to understand what she was putting up with. I mean, sure, it must be shocking and intimidating to have Marlon Brando ask you to do something like that, but she still made her own decission.

I don’t think many people know where Gwyneth’s emotions were coming from. It wasn’t just the Oscar; her father had just been diagnosed with cancer. Her grandfather, who joined them at the afterparty, was terminal. Another family member had just passed away. All of that hit her at that moment. Regardless, what should it matter? She just won an Oscar. However she wants to express her feelings about the moment, she should be able to do it.

Ignorance is a miss. *2. La La Land Producers - 2016 Best Picture Nominees* - Moonlight actually won leaving La La Land producers in...well...la la land. *3. Sacheen Littlefeather for Marlon Brandon - 1973 Best Actor* - She held her hand up to an offended Roger Moore basically telling Hollywood to keep the little golden idol that they worship and treat Native Americans right. Thank you Sir Brando for sending your memorable minion. *4. Gwyneth Paltrow - 1999 Best Actress* - weep, cry, sniff, snort, ugh. Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth was outstanding - grrrr!!! *5. Elinor Burkett - 2009 Best Documentary, Short Subject* - Ahhhh. Kanye West must have been so damn proud. *6. Angelina Jolie - 2000 Best Supporting Actress* - She loves, loves, loooooves her brother.

DON if a woman (or man) chooses to sleep with someone to further their career then it's not rape as they themselves have chosen a course of action. ie consent, however unenthusiastic, regretful and ignorant of consequences that might be. I am not defending Weinstein he seems creepy and repellent and I'm sure this type of lurid transaction happens everyday in them Hollywood hills but the truth is I don't know what happened. Nor do you. What is in the public domain is the gushing gratitude of some starlets, now apparent victims at various award ceremonies thanking the man in question. What I would get angry about is how Weinstein checked into rehab rather than being taken down town for questioning as you and I would be, assuming you are just a regular joe like me. So far it has been trial by media. The law of any civilised country stipulates a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. In a court of law. Not in cyberspace. So wind your neck in.

Patricia Arquette! When she won the Best Supporting Actress award for "Boyhood," she made a call for gender equality. In doing so, however, she implied: that racial equality and civil rights for Blacks have been achieved; that women have been there supporting racial equality; and, that it is time for racial minorities to step up and support gender equality. The premise of her speech erroneously assumed that racial equality was achieved and also erased the role of women of color by suggesting that race and gender are mutually exclusive.

Looked at it - CLEARLY confused....and looked to Faye Dunaway, who just BLURTED OUT, "Lalaland!" and the card actually said the name of the actress in LaLaLand, EmmaStone. It was her fault, all the way down the line. Beatty never speaks of this because he's a gentleman and Fay never speaks of it because, well, that's another video.
