Kris Urbanski is such a legend, one of my modern heroes, he seriously deserves more attention.

Nice, I spent the last 20 minutes getting this down. This will be my new warm up routine for February.

It’s a great exercise. Have you checked out much of Kris’ playing? I’m sure you have but he is the real deal. Such a monster!

Wish it was just major triads. That I can handle. Starting on the 7th of a major chord and then moving to a Eb7b9, not so easy for me...

Cool but what's the point? Is it to pratice and master major triads?
@nickmainella Жыл бұрын
These aren't major triads. It's a combination of a major 7th chord starting on the 7th changing to a dominant chord a half step lower starting on the root and utilizing the b9. The point is to develop harmonic and melodic flexibility and practice voice leading so I have more freedom in my improvised solos...

And even if they were just major triads, don't you think that would be a great thing to master and have at your disposal to be a great improviser? Do you agree?

@@nickmainella Yes, certainly. I re-read my message and it might have come off as derisive and harsh which wasn't my intention. I was just curious about the purpose. I apologize and thank you for your clarification. I'll give it a go. Peace!
