So what's the deal with a concealed carry permit & use of medical marijuana ? Do cops just turn a blind eye to it since it's a gray area ? I assume that one day it will be treated the same as alcohol consumption / bars and having a concealed carry. But what's the deal currently ?

Florida no longer requires a conceal carry permit so I didn’t think it still had anything to do with the medical marijuana license

I respect FHP tremendously. On duty (FF/EMT), a Trooper literally lifted me over a recliner since they did not yet have control of a Signal 20. He took one look at me, decided where I would be safe, and PUT me there! He came back for me after the guy was cuffed…we could treat and transfer…with the help of FHP!

An additional thing about dropping a gun, and not just in the instance of contact with LEOs: do NOT try to CATCH a dropping gun. Let it drop. Hopefully the internal safeties will keep it from going off just because it was dropped. If you grab for a dropping gun, you could accidentally discharge the firearm in a random direction. So just don’t do it. Let a falling gun fall.

1. Don’t answer any questions, especially ones seemingly “pointless” or especially ones unrelated to the traffic infraction causing the stop. 2. DONT BREAK THE LAW WHILE BREAKING THE LAW 3. Don’t keep anything in your car, period. No air fresheners. No trash. No personal items. Nothing. 4. Admit to the ticket, pay it, be polite and cordial, and move on about your day. 4. Don’t argue on the side of the road, argue in the court room.

I grew up in west central Florida. Our FHP is the *_best_* (and the coolest) in America! I've NEVER met one that wasn't well-mannered, honest, and above all, fair. You treat them with respect, and that is *_just_* what you get in return. FHP used to run red & blue before switching the their Federal Signal lighting.. Likely just an older unit before the change was made

It's a 2016-2019 model FPIU. There was a time when FHP ran red and blue lights on their vehicles. They started using all Blue Lights again in 2018. So when that particular FPIU was upfitted, FHP was most likely still using red and blue lights.

The unmarked FPIU might be outdated, along with this since its unmarked most people might think it could be a impersonator considering that most marked officers run red and blues, so it could be further identifying as a common law enforcement officer. FHP is the only Law Enforcement entity I know so far in the state of florida to run all blues.

I met Lt.Camacho years ago he pulled me over, he was in a unmarked car on the Sawgrass Expressway right at the Panthers arena. I had just gotten my 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 and I was high tailing it right after I went through the toll plaza lol he was standing off to the shoulder ( left side) radar gun in hand and clocked me doing 86 in a 70😂😂😂. He stepped out in the roadway and I pulled over , he ask me why are you doing 86 in a 70? I said I'm late for work at the time I worked right off commercial, he said how is it I come out here got you speeding but my Trooper's are telling me they don't see no speeders out here lol. He gave me a ticket and I chopped it up with him a bit and went on my way😂😂😂. It was all good, very cool Trooper 🫡
