I never thought I'd see a home system that makes mine look comparatively small, and mine's got 4 tower speakers comprising of twelve 6" - 7.5" bass drivers, two 12" subwoofers and one 18" subwoofer. Nothing more satisfying than bass so deep you can barely hear it, but the immense sound pressure makes EVERYTHING flap around like a tornado is coming. Very nice system there buddy.

Drift Drift you are so wrong. It’s actually better to have more woofers. More woofers = more air being moved = more bass. Plus instead of having 4 separate subs in 4 separate boxes he just has two boxes with 4 woofers taking up less floor space. Does it look ridiculous, depends on the person but something like this meant to go behind an acoustic transparent screen for home theater. Stop making stuff up it just makes you look stupid.

Absolutely insane, I love it! I'm building a dedicated sound proof room for 4 of these in an infinite baffle setup under the block and beam floor.
@EstavanCruz8 жыл бұрын
+CommanderLake I have 2 18" subs with 1000 watts to each and I made it a quest to soundproof the room. It took a layer of 5/8" sheetrock installed on sound channel strips, a layer of 6" Ruxol, another 5/8 sheet of drywall and that still wasn't enough so I doubled the wall with the same combo and that did the trick for about 99% or so. Worth every penny of material. I also made bass traps for my corners and it really helped take out the boominess without sacrificing that chest pressure when the subs hit GL on your build.
@commanderlake79978 жыл бұрын

+Commanderlake - if you heard genuine 3hz bass tone for an extended period your internal organs would vibrate and kill you. So you weren't hearing a genuine 3hz, more like 10hz.
@commanderlake79978 жыл бұрын
+Justin Hunting I find it amusing how people can lecture someone about something they have not experienced, I cant hear 3Hz but I can feel a small pressure in my ears. Try going into a room with no ventilation and moving the door in and out within the frame rapidly.

Beautiful! And very American! This setup embodies what it means to be American. Go big, and then go bigger, using the most expensive parts that you can possibly buy, and don't worry if it's practical, because practical be damned! I was sitting here debating the merit of having an 18" home subwoofer enclosure, but now I know it looks awesome. I've been running one 12" home subwoofer in a ported box, and I felt like it was too excessive, this makes me feel justified.

goliath idthirteen so is it the slot port itself? or the positioning of the port? what makes the bottom woofer almost useless? iv been wondering if/how different port shapes and positions effect things
@TheUniversalid9 жыл бұрын
Cincinnati Harry yes, the front firing port requires a lot of r&d tuning, the trick is to cause the port to exhale while the woofer moves out much like a paddleball, but its size doesnt permit it, just the air cancels out the waves, a rear firing port would be best for one that size

Nice subs ! ....but move your mid/high speakers out so that the front plane of the subs and components are BEHIND them....they will sound TWICE as good, and will image way better. Right now the sound are bouncing off the side sub cabinets which muddies up the wave launch into the room. I have a college degree in lasers/electronics/wave theory....so I know what I'm talking about...(Also I'm a VERY experienced audiophile).
@blakeesmith848 жыл бұрын
+mechdude1 Exactly what I was going to say. I am an audiophile, as well. It pains me to see so many people with great gear that have it set up horribly. I see so few spend money on acoustic panels, bass traps, sound diffusers. I hear of many people who have Audyssey XT32, but run it completely wrong or don't use all of the 8 positions available. I see people set toe-in on their mains horrendously wrong, resulting in what I can only imagine is a terrible stereo image. I see people spend TONS of money on great speakers and subs, then spend hardly anything on their receiver, or they run power hungry towers off of a crappy little light weigh receiver. Ugh, so many obvious mistakes that so few recognize!!

so what speakers did you get something good like Klipch, JBL or Cerwin-Vega! i mean you could have gotten some massive Cerwin Vega! towers to match the subs and maybe some smaller floor-standers for in the rears. and a Cerwin-Vega! center channel and that would be an epic surround sound setup.

Jajaja diablos man.

I remember having systems like this, not quite that amperage considering those amp units. Beautiful setup, Us Audiophiles are seldom understood.
