Thank you Nick you made things look so much easier compared to my technical pattern drafting course for class! B/c I’m lost in the sauce in class for basic stuff with following the charts, alphabets and lines and sometimes not using exact measurements for example like to the nearest 16th or what have you and I do get discouraged.

This super helpful! I actually watched this immediately when it came out and I used this as the base for one of my Edwardian style skirts and I added more sweep to the hem by flaring it out more around the knee line, kinda like for mermaid gowns, to give me more hem sweep.

Love your video! I have a question: the front of the skirt is placed on the fold of the fabric. But for the back, do you simply cut 2?

Hello sir how to make front drape skirt
@lindaabraham8715 Жыл бұрын
Please consider showing how to drape a flared skirt, and compare the results with begining with a basic skirt sloper. What fabrics are best with a flared skirt? For example, see the skirt Ginger Rogers is wearing here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zme1naqEZdOXmrM. Is this a flared skirt, and what fabric is it? Is there a separate lining underneath? Also, what are the advantages/disadvantages of using gores? Why go to all that trouble?
