I was 8 years old when this game came out and I used to just stand there literally for minutes on end just to listen to that just as this video is doing. I used to ponder if there is such a planet with an atmosphere of snow and thunder simultaneously on a regular basis. The imminent feeling of doom vs. Triumph.

Just prior to having my entire video game library destroyed, I had developed a habit of occasionally booting up Super Metroid and using an empty save file to just replay this first segment of the game (prior to entering the old Tourian facility, since that's a one-way door that doesn't unlock until after you advance the plot past where this music plays). I realized that although the gameplay of having no powerups and almost no area to explore was unavoidably too boring to tolerate for more than a few minutes, I invariably found those few minutes each day or three to be an absolute balm to my soul, and constantly wished that there was more of an area to explore while listening to this absolute sonic perfection. Just imagine wandering around Skyrim with this soundtrack playing. Now that the game itself is denied to me by cruel fate, I must settle for a video such as this one. In an ideal world, I'd wish for this video to have Samus actually running around and occasionally shooting things, rather than just standing there in silence, but that's a very minor complaint (and, in said ideal world, I'd still have my SNES and cartridges, so I'd have no reason to be here now).

@@mrnatelygrisse yes, they have many advantages, apart from being legally classified as theft, which is silly given that you only copy them, not remove them from previous owners.

I reccomend anything ambiance and bitcrunched I love falling asleep to these elden ring themes but slowed down like 600 percent so they turn into these ambiance like 30 minute peices I love it so much

For all you know, the Chozo battlesuit autonomously runs around and shoots things of its own accord, and Samus is in there like a Matrix pod-person the whole time, actually playing video games instead of perceiving the outside world. The drinks would be provided intravenously but she could hallucinate the taste of them (and ignorance is bliss).
