I make my dirty pours over a silicone sheet, and the drips are so awesome! I let them dry then glue down the flat clear glass marbles to the dried paint. Let dry a couple of days, then trim around the excess. Seal, dry, and glue a magnet to the back. These make great fridge magnets!!

Love it!!! Just a little note for people using E6000, if it's something you might use once or twice; try and get it in the smaller tubes. I have one big tube that I hadn't used in about 6 months and it was almost impossible to open and the glue had a hard time working properly. =)
@MansiMakes7 жыл бұрын
You can apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the tube cap before closing it and it will help open the tube with ease after a long time of not using it.

Thank you So Much for this tutorial. I’ve been excited to try acrylic pour technique, but I’m afraid of wasting a canvas and paint if I don’t like my color combos. I’m definitely going to try making skins for jewelry first. I think it will be a good safe first step to try. I’m excited to make cabochons for bead weaving and bead embroidery using what you taught in this tutorial. Thanks again!

I have just started making these myself but the Diamond Glaze is so expensive here in the UK. Wonderful pendants, Thanks for sharing :)
@ElaineMurphy667 жыл бұрын
I do something similar, but I use resin rather than buying the glass and diamond glaze. I mix it and use a syringe to put the resin into the broach, pendants mould etc. Acrylic skin in first once it is dry then topped with the resin. Looks every bit as good and effective, cheaper too than the diamond glaze.

Hi Nicky...I’m creating a list from your amazon page...I see the glass domes but which item is for the backs for those glass domes? (I’m making the magnets) The only ones I can find on Etsy have pendant loops attached..? ...also..do I need the foam adhesive circles you show on your amazon list page??? Thanks for your video tutorial and your advice!☺️
@NickyJBurch7 жыл бұрын
I used the foam circles on the original magnets I made without the bezels. There is a video for those as well, link in the description. It's difficult to find the 30mm bezel cups. The ones I purchased were from this Etsy seller. www.etsy.com/shop/maxnmesuppliers

these are really neat! thankyou for your videos =) i've made like 8 pour paintings so far. I keep having them crack when they dry, which is extremely dissapointing. Have you had issues with this? how do you prevent it?
@Robvr_o4w6 жыл бұрын
Mindy Atkinson+ Pouring mediums such a Liquidtex, GAC800, or even a mixture of PVA glue (like elmers glue all) are reputed to prevent cracking in your paint. I've used mainly the Liquitex and have not had any issues with cracking. Hope that helps.

Alot of people get it on Amazon. You can also use coconut oil hair serum found at Walmart, but only a little. The serum is thicker than the treadmill silicone, that's what its listed under. Treadmill oil

Nicky, I just watch another guy using skins from his pours to make pendants with and ....I'm sorry, but they were...well...ugly. Your colors and cells are SO beautiful. You should sell just the skins with a tut. Might make a few bucks. The silicone pad is a brilliant idea...you're the best!😎😎😎

@dianeousterling79037 жыл бұрын
what type of paper do you use?
@NickyJBurch7 жыл бұрын
I didn't use any paper. These skins are poured directly onto the silicone mat and then peeled off. I don't recommend pouring onto paper. Leaving paper on the skins can cause issues with moisture and bubbles showing up under the glass during the curing time.

E6000 yellows over time. Does this make a difference with the skins & the glue?
@NickyJBurch7 жыл бұрын
I use the Diamond Glaze between the glass and skin, so in my case it wouldn't matter if the E6000 yellowed between the skin and the tray, because it isn't seen.

Contact Adhesive works better if you allow the time the manufacturer suggests before putting the 2 ends together - much stronger bond.
@Jerry-hp5sf7 жыл бұрын
Could you use the Diamond Glaze to glue the skin-covered dome to the bezel? The bottle says it’s an adhesive and much easier to clean off the glass dome than E6000. I have a love-hate relationship with that stuff...lol.
@NickyJBurch7 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could use the diamond glaze for attaching the skin to the bezel. I tend to make a bigger mess with the Diamond Glaze which is why I don't use it in the bezel. The E6000 is thicker and I can get it where I want with a smaller amount. I don't like the odor though and would forgo it for the Diamond Glaze if I knew for sure the Diamond Glaze's adhesion is comparable to E6000 long term.
