Such a stunning voice--should be and could be a superstar with the right team and the right songs. His success on the X-Factor has demonstrated that he has commercial appeal, and his voice has only gotten so much better since then. Nicky -- I have loved your voice since your first nervous X-Factor auditions and still look forward to what you'll sing next. With that said, the keyboard, though beautiful, was a bit too loud on this song and played over you. Mind you, I'm not a musician, just an older fan. Was lucky enough to know and befriend some truly great American jazz musicians, now sadly, mostly deceased. One comment I frequently heard from many of them about saloon player (his own term) pianist, the late Dave McKenna, was his perfect accompaniment to some of our best ballad singers by "playing just behind them". There are quite a few clips of Dave on KZbin, some with the great Rosemary Clooney, although, later actual CDs, still available, with vocalist Donna Byrne, are clearer. One of their best together is " I Have Dreamed" from The King & I, one of R&H's most beautiful love songs. I'll close with this: your best stuff from 2013 were the ballad covers. Would love to hear your versions of some of those older Broadway shows. Thank you for the joy of hearing your voice. My wishes for a very long, successful, and happy life.
