Today Nico drives the very rare and exotic Detomaso Mangusta. A stunning design by Alejandro Detomaso and with only 400 cars made also very rare.
Gallery Aaldering is a family owned business since 1975 and offers a one stop experience for car enthusiasts of all sorts and ages. With a staggering and constantly changing collection of over 350 cars, Gallery Aaldering is the largest classic car company in Europe.
Nico Aaldering started the company in 1975, fuelled by his love for classic cars and his son Nick shares this passion. Together they lead and develop the company on a daily basis.

Growing up I started off with Corvettes. A friend of mine's cousin who was slightly older drove up one day in a strange looking vehicle. It was the Detomaso Mangusta. A wild vehicle indeed. Eventually I wound up with a Detomaso Pantera the next generation.

Wat eigenlijk nog ontbreekt in dit verhaal is dat de auto is vernoemd naar dat beestje dat het altijd zo succesvol opneemt tegen cobra's.

Mooi gelijnde auto, met een prachtig geluid. Zo'n dikke Amerikaan in een Italiaanse auto is zo gek nog niet. Denk aan de Iso Rivolta's.

De motoren zijn inderdaad niet zo exotisch als Italiaanse V12's maar ze zijn oersterk en waren destijds licht van gewicht en bovendien goedkoop.

Wat dat geluid betreft, op deze video is een race-versie van de Mangusta te beleven (anders kan ik het niet uitdrukken) tijdens een hillclimb wedstrijd in Italië... kippenvel! Actually it was 401 pieces produced...400 with Ford engine and one with Chevrolet engine as a gift for GM president and GM president can´t have engine from concurrent factory,of course..! P.S-I love this car from my youth ,because I got it as cable control toy in orange with black front bonnet and race number 24 on doors!!These door and bonnet was able to open up even!What more you need in age of five for happiness??

Sadly from 2030 on all the combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one single state operated station per city. :-(
