The time and place is when your baby is hungry, I've breastfed on buses trains benches wherever. It's so easy to do it discreetly xx

@David Ward spot on David! Well said!! I get furious when parents allow their littlens to scream without attending to them, so when a mother attends to her baby by feeding them then i see it as a good and considerate thing.

Yes Jacqueline, I think you should be able to feed your baby in public places/areas but like you said the important word here is discreetly .

I'm a young mum... I breastfeed because it is best for my baby... he was very ill when born and it was the only thing I could do to contribute to his care when he was in the NICU.. I am genuinely surprised a woman thinks we would do it for any sort of gratification more than comforting our child. Like Nichola said, it's hard bloody work, I try to be discreet, but like others have said if people notice it's fine, so long as no one says anything! Thankfully I've never been told otherwise or people would get a piece of my mind. I always try to find a quiet place but there has been times when I've had to sit on the floor in the middle of B&Q to prevent a meltdown! Like others have said, would you rather a screaming baby? Ugh it makes me so mad someone could even accuse us of doing it in that way.. honestly once you start breastfeeding it is incredibly difficult to see your breasts in any other way than a way to feed your child...

I never had a problem breastfeeding anywhere and found everyone really supportive. I was often given free cups of tea in cafes and there was not one place that didn't welcome me. I think these places/people that don't welcome it are few and far between.

When did we get to a time where feeding your child when its hungry is a negative thing? Its alarming about the 8 year old that anne was talking about but the reality is that it's the absolute minority. I personally feel good in my heart when i see a mother feeding their baby in the natural way, im not slating those who are physically unable to though as i know there are certain issues for some mothers... but NOT like the essex lady here whereas they care about (and i quote) "sagging" 🙄

My daughter in law is Argentinian,my grandson is now five,but she breastfed him till he was one,their was never any question of being able to breastfeed anywhere any time,they live in Spain,these objections never seem to be an issue,a baby,a breast,that is what nature intended,most women don't just flop out the breast,it is done discretely,you can't even tell they are feeding! Thank God some people are still upholding appropriate boundaries. Women should take responsibility for maintaining decorum and being sensitive to others. Yes it's distasteful. The back of the restaurant is a good compromise if it's an emergency. But you don't NEED to go to a restaurant. Better to go to a car or something. It's kind of gross in a formal setting where lots of ppl are trying to eat. I don't think it's Jason's issue, I think it's an issue with women not wanting to be bothered and take responsibility and be considerate of others

Sounds like you struggle to see breasts as anything other than sexual. I wonder if you pass similar comments when you see celebrity images. Not much dignity going on there. How about renaissance pictures or sculptures? Newspapers? Victoria’s Secret shop windows? Or is it just when breasts are used for their biological purpose when you think people should hold “appropriate boundaries”.

normally at that age youd just buy a muffin at the coffee shop too for your kid if its hungry. You are allowed to do whatver you thnk is best for your child, but you surely know breastfeeding a 2 year old isnt normal, and hence why someone made comments.
@jabbahamma61005 жыл бұрын

Completely get where Jason is coming from. It’s perfectly natural and it wouldn’t offend me in the slightest. But it’s not exactly hard to be discreet to save other people feeling awkward, there’s the bras with the flaps and things like that. I mean to go and tell someone to stop is ridiculous, like what Jason said it’s your issue so just leave. But he’s right about men because a lot of them feel like if they even glance they’ll get accused of ogling and being a perve these days. It’s fine to breast feed, just be respectful and try and be discreet when possible.
