For the rugs/carpets, you can get foam puzzle tiles that have a carpet side attached. It might look childish, depending on the colors you get, but they’re super soft, and you can cut them to fit whatever space you have. That’s actually what I’m planning on doing when I go to college.

I bought a mattress topper that has no VOC's, no smell, nothing toxic, from Avocado mattresses. They are a little more expensive, but since you're laying your body and face next to it for hours, I think it's worth not having the chemicals around your body.

For me, I only used the mattress topper for one year, and it’s basically useless now. I’m moving into an apartment for my second year of university with a queen size bed. I guess if you plan on staying on campus for a few years, then spending $100 on a mattress topper would be worth it. I got mine from Walmart for like $20 dollars.

also fans create white noise so you don't have to hear every little thing on your floor lol and a lot of the time you can get all of your textbooks on your phone or tablet/computer so you don't have to lug books around. and a lot of textbooks you don't actually need, ask your professor, sometimes they are just recommended and you don't need them and textbooks are EXSPENSIVE! also get a SMALL extra hamper that you can put your too dirty to put away but clean enough to wear again clothes in, that way the don't pile up on your desk chair lmao i know your going to keep moving them to your bed and then back to THE CHAIR you know you will, don't lie. and get a multi subject notebook because you do not want to lug a thousand notebooks around. also your dorm housing might provide you with free trash bags etc. ask you are paying a lot of money so get every piece of free items you can. and get slippers for walking down the halls, because the floors an be icky and you don't want to walk down the halls barefoot or in your socks :) if you can afford it get good headphones because studying in coffee shops or public spaces it'll get loud. and if you want get a mirror with led lights in it that way when the shitty dorm lighting is bad you can actually see your face lol also if they let you, take food back to your dorm from the cafeteria, again you are paying a lot of money for this ! good luck stay safe, and have fun.

Idk why I’m watching this. I’ve been at boarding school for like almost 6 years now haha. I was young and made the mistake of bringing a tonne. Used probably %10 and had a tiny amount of space. Bring as little as possible, I mean as little as possible because your area will just become disorganised and untidy. Horrible experience tbh. What I recommend bringing with you: a nice light (not super bright white LED), pc setup if you have one (1 monitor, pc, chair, peripherals), 6x t-shirts pair of socks pants, 3x trousers/shorts if you’re desperate, 2x jumpers? Idk, small amount of shoes, speaker & headphones, box with a lock for your secret/personal/valued belongings and obviously just a small amount of toiletries. That’s basically it I think. Water bottle and books probz with a backpack cuz it’s convenient and yeah... a lot of wires and plugs for electronics
