Nicole's music feels like the bedroom of a young child. The walls, once a light pink, are now dulled to an almost gray color. Tons of frilly dresses sit in the closet, yellowed and stained and smelling of dust. Handmade wooden toys and plushies, who haven't felt human touch in what seems like centuries, lay in a toychest. And the kid who owned that room died many years ago. Their blood's still on the bedsheets.

@@djinnxx7050 Ehh, I guess that's fair. I never thought of it as edgy tho, just what I think about her music. Plus, what's wrong with being edgy? I'm not hurting anyone, so why call attention to it?
@djinnxx70502 жыл бұрын
@@hazy_days1465 Well i guess you tend not to see when you yourself are being edgy if it's just a natural part of who you are. Those who are trying to be edgy, often for the shock value, stick out like a sore thumb and where a lot of the negative connotations are derived. Many fail to recognise the difference due to the limitations of text and the vapid nature of online interaction itself, it's like fast food conversation, and so becomes one of those things where people are far more eager to assume a negative and jump to throwing insults, thinking somehow it makes them look good to do so. I can't blame you for jumping to a conclusion. I never said it was an issue though. I simply said "Ooh... you're a bit edgy", because you are, and I enjoy observing the reaction if I'm being entirely honest, fucking around a bit, it helps to see how quick people are to assume a personal attack, how defensive social media has made people become. Helps me build a better case against it, frankly. Not that any help is needed at this point. If I said the same face to face, would you ever see it as a negative, or would you just be like "Ha! Yeah, I totally am..." And pass it off with humour and a smile, or kick it back and joke around with it. Your reaction would be based on my tone, but how many times in real life have you ever heard anyone say "You're edgy!" In an aggressive tone or entirely intended to be an insult? I've never heard it. The quickness to assume a negative is a great example of how the internet has fucked social interaction, it's no valid substitute for actually meeting and talking to people. But alas, you try talking to strangers out and about these days and they look at you as if you're insane. You're edgy, so what, just be yourself and fuck those who would try to abuse you for it. Granted, you are most likely to see it used in a derogatory manner, usually from people who are an absolute embarrassment, very often the type who have "Be Kind!" in their twatter bio, because people are just so soft these days that anything with even the slightest edge is able to cut apparently too deep for comfort. But you know, it's just a matter of fact, it's like edgelord, people try to use it as an insult but you know what, fuck it, run with it. It harms no one except those so pathetically soft as to be harmed by text. Like christ, maybe those fucks shouldn't touch letters without chainmail gloves, they might get a papercut and lose a finger. You're all good, her music has dark undertones to begin with so it's gonna inspire some dark imagery. Anyone who would insult you for being edgy and yet finds themselves enjoying her music or other material with those undertones, they may need a rethink. Bit of a long way of saying "Nothing and no one. Just fucking around, observing reactions.", but you know, social media bad, not exactly news but worth a mention.

Nicole's music is exceptionally devastating. I can hardly find the words to describe it without sounding overly morbid, but it feels like a July sundown on some beautiful North American town; one that's picture perfect on the surface with its mountain backdrop and historic downtown shops, but hiding abuse and neglect just out of sight behind church walls and white picket fences.

i think this version sounds more melancholy, and emotional. it’s capturing that sad, depressing atmosphere. the newer version on the other hand is like a vengeful, angry take on the story. anyhow, i like them both equally but this version just hits so much harder.

Fuck, this hits hard to home. I've always been a softy and been quite emotional ever since I was a kid. My mom was never sympathetic towards me. She often told me to just suck it up when I was sad, it grew worse when I was older. She even grew mad at me when I told her I had anxiety, and she said that I was just overeacting. When I was bullied in school and had meltdowns infront of her she just yelled at me and forced me to go, even though I told her I was bullied. It was so difficult to live with her, yet I still love her because when the times were good she was the perfect mom. I just wish that mom always existed.

Dude whatthefuck, i came scross this version of the song and think about my moms insensitivity to me ...we recently had a bad fight over her gaslighting me and never respecting me....i rememver her also screaming at me to go to school as a 9 year old when i was so bullied severely...i was crouched over on tbr floor and couldnt move from severe stomach pain. She screamed at me and said im making it up. I ended up having to go to the hospital that day. Shes just so wicked. I hope youre ok these days and you arent alone

I totally feel this except it was my Dad and not my mom. This album came out right before my Dad passed away and when he was dying I listened to this song over and over again and cried. (My Dad actually lived in Florida at this time as well, and the year before he died he took me to an Alligator preserve and he told me he admired Alligators because they were tough.) This song was comforting in a weird way but sad also. I think about my Dad and his passing every time I hear this song. I like this version of it a lot.

Forgive her maybe she was trying to handle things you're unaware of but either way. Set yourself free love. Find comfort in others. And love your mom for giving you life. Sometimes the best family is the ones we choose
@Gr_in Жыл бұрын
@lettyanguiano6 she went through horrible things, but I know that the things she went through when I grew up was things she could control if she wasn't selfish. I don't hate her, not anymore. I know that she was a woman in a lot of pain, but that didn't justify what she did to me or my Siblings. I love her, I always will love her. Especially now when she seems to be changing for the better. I'm just upset that she let her pain go through us, instead of doing something about it.
