Also, Tammy Wynette was a very popular classic country singer (she had a beautiful voice!) And Tammy Faye was a televangelist (a tv preacher) who was known for being very campy and over the top.

You really gotta give married in mount airy. It's her (current) magnum opus. I've never heard anything like it. It reminds me of sulky baby by yeule. Genre wise, married in mount airy is nothing like it, but both have this very ethereal VERY FULL sound. HSB is very somber, and MIMA builds on that. NBL is like this gritty grimey southern swamp with a trailer park nearby. HSB is like a junkie bride holding a bottle of wine crying alone in her hotel room. MIMA is like the ghost of that bride weeping through the halls an abandoned love hotel. Notes on heart shaped bed, uncle was originally named after and is inspired by a lost VC Andrews short story called "I slept with my uncle in my wedding night". Nicole gets her stage name, Dollanganger, from the Dollanganger series by VC Andrews. Flowers in the attic and petals on the wind are hard reads but well worth it imo. But I definitely recommend reading trigger warnings beforehand. Back to HSB, my fave songs on this album are definitely Tammy Faye, Lemonade, Snake, and Lacrymaria Olor. The swan bed line in Lemonade is a reference to flowers in the attic. Lastly, ik people have explained both Tammy's in Tammy Faye, but Sadie Mae was a prominent member in the Manson family cult. She was also called sexy Sadie. Oh and lastly lastly, the squealing sound in lacrymaria olor is Nicole's voice but heavily processed and warped. I'm with you on only angels being the weakest, but not necessarily for the same reasons.

OMG please do more reactions to Nicoles albums. I love your reaction! I don't really know what album I want next cuz I love all of them. But if i must pick one i said Flowers of flesh and blood, but its totally random, I love all albums. But in the Flowers is my favourite and lovely Danny so I probably choose this for him haha And I really want you to do her album Babyland but it has only 3 songs so I don't know if you want do this. But you can put for example Babyland and Flowers to one reaction and it be a reaction to 2 albums in one video if you want or just do a short video only for Babyland haha but I really want you to heart Babyland 🥰

Sadie Mae is referring to Susan Atkins who was part of the Manson family killings (serial killer) and most of the song is Nicole singing about Susan Atkins or Sadie Mae

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH. I laughed SO HARD when Beautiful and Bad hit cause that's literally about a real true crime case that actually happened - AGAIN LMFAO (Aileen Wuornos xD) Tammy Faye has a TON of referential stuff in there - I really go to this album for the lyrics more than anything else so I love seeing more production focused listeners opinions but once again this is the part where I say look into the lyrical content a little deeper, I swear it'll all start clicking Track 1 is based off a lost piece of writing by VC Andrews, the title used to be an acronym for what VC titled the piece but it's G R A P H I C 😂 will pop up and re edit with info as I remember it xD

Coming back to this music after having read the Dollanganger series (for the second time - it's a difficult read emotionally and mentally so I don't tend to revisit often) is a fucking trip and a damn half I am telling you.

So Uncle was originally ISWMUOMWN (I Slept With My Uncle On My Wedding Night) which is in reference to Flowers In the Attic. The mother in that book married her (if I remember correctly) her father's cousin, so essentially her uncle and she was banished by the family. The family was the Dollanganger family and her mother had a massive swan bed. Most of her music deals with that novel series

@@bennshouts this album is a grower for me too. after many listens this is my favorite. it's so romantic, soft and ethereal. after NBL shes makes less harsher songs. her new album Married at Mount Airy sounds more like Lacrymaria Olor. most of the songs are grower as well
