I think this is a rare occasion when Ansel is actually just exhausted. He usually has quite more personality and charisma in his interviews. He seems somewhat out of it here

There was an interview where Ansel did say he had a hard time filming this and was taken to a dark place. He’ll grow out of it.

Usually he is really a charmer and has a lot of things to say. He said in another interview that this movie was emotionally draining for him, so I think he is just exhausted
