Yay for another shoutout for "With One Look." I keep hearing praise for "As If We Never Said Goodbye" (and it was great) but "With One Look" was ASTOUNDING. One of the best vocal performances I've ever heard.

Stunt casting Madonna in "A League of our Own" actually did work out. The role was perfect for her.

Teri Garr is a comedic legend, and absolutely gorgeous. Also her interviews later in life when she clearly had no F’s left to give are hilarious

Garr was always a delight onscreen and yes, her reaction to Gene Wilder's death alone made it clear she wasn't playing in her later interviews.

I want to time travel back to 1950's "Sunset Boulevard" premiere, to hear Louis B. Mayer tell Billy Wilder he's a disgrace to Hollywood, and witness Wilder retort, "F--- you, Mr. Mayer."

"Neil Simon as one of the lesser Pulitzer Prize winners".....a cutting remark, indeed, and not entirely untrue....but since you are steeped in anecdotes about Broadway's past, go back and read the late legendary king of blood-letting "search-and-destroy" reviews, critic John Simon's original 1985 review of "Biloxi Blues", which up to that point, after 22 plays, was the only play that Simon ever wrote that won the Tony Award. Simon passionately despised all of Simon's plays, except for "Biloxi", due to the central Tony-winning performance (not Matthew Broderick, whom he panned) of a now-forgotten young actor who was placed on the same "overnight sensation" pedestal as The Divine Ms. Nicole is now. No Pulitzer would of ever come to Mr. Simon without the rave reviews that "Biloxi" brought him as a reconsidered "serious playwright", enough to establish him as more that just a multi-millionaire mass-assembly-line comedy machine. That's also why they never revive it. There was a distinct "outlier" performance at it's center, that transcended Simon's brand, and help pave the way for that highest trophy several years later.

@@davidc5278 You know what? I don’t care anymore. I’ve completely changed my mind about Scherzinger. Her performance is excellent, there’s no mistaking, but she’s got a shitty attitude towards her British audiences where it all began. She can right royally GFH as far as I’m concerned.
