Colie, you said you want to go to UCLA so here’s a pro tip: So im currently a senior and found it helpful to apply to college in August right before this school year began to apply to colleges. I’d do my research and find out when applications begin and apply then as soon as they open. The earlier the better. That way you have a better chance of getting accepted. Less ppl apply during that time, so applying early gives u a better chance. Also I cant believe ur gonna be a senior this upcoming fall. I’ve been watching you since you were im 8th grade and its crazy that ur gonna be a senior. Cant wait to see how ur senior year goes. Enjoy every single moment of it!!

Hi, I’m also a current senior planning to attend UC Berkeley this fall. What you said about applying early giving you an advantage is false for UCs. It does not give you any advantage whether you submit as soon as the application opens, or when you submit it right before the deadline. However, this may be true for privates but certainly not the UCs. Hopefully this clears up some misunderstandings. My recommendation is to have several people proofread your PIQs, whether that is your mom or a friend. Getting feedbacks from a variety of people will definitely help you strengthen your essay. Hope this helps to any juniors!
