I tried Spipd when it came out and it didn't have a huge range of podcasts, was hard to get the speed to play in between mind-numbingly slow and 'chipmunk speed', transcriptions were wildly incorrect, and using it required pulling out your phone and click...click...click...click...click so many times that I could have simply jotted down the key idea. The podcast notes appear to be worth trying out though.

It's okay if you have headphones that support a gesture to tap to take a snippet, problem is the snips don't work without connection to internet

podcasts are great while running , which is when i listen to them and also absolutly cannot take any notes i love Huberman Podcast which is also quite information dense so this came in time

But how do you use it and capture while walking? Surely that’s the use case for a mobile podcast app.

That's not my use case, but you can double tap on your headphones to make a snip!

Now that snipd isn't free. Snips are getting to readwise without transcript. Any alternative you recommend?

... your item 2, and 3 depends on if you 'pod' during a commute and are even driving for that commute. BUT that said, the point three to snipping notes... makes for a good app. I'll see how many pods I go back to off the KZbin habit : ))))) Thanks for the vid...

The code is not for the app; it's for the AI podcast notes feature. :) You can use Snipd without it. I also don't have a commute - I work remotely 100% of the time. I'm sure that changes my tastes regarding podcasts!

@@nicolevdh OK... thanks. And commutes, should be a thing of the past.... soon. [Ex-commuter with a 200km to 11,000km commute - now I have a 5 to 20 minute walk, as a 'home versus which coffee shop' choice. : ))))) ]

My problem with podcasts is that it seems that they are only known by word of mouth and I don't know anyone interested in them 😂 and for example in Spotify the algorithms don't recommend anything I'm interested in 😂

Yeah, I get that! Snipd actually addresses this by having "groups" for topics you're interested in, like productivity or tech. Then they suggest podcasts that are in that area. That's definitely one of the things that's difficult about podcasts - the discoverability of them.
