I liked that little Phil and Maeve scene. It looks like they’re warming up to each other. Maeve seems more curious than judgmental about the affair, unlike Nicole. And Phil telling Maeve to not read the article, knowing it would be upsetting for her, was rather sweet. I’d like to see them develop a friendship.

Either Phil’s intuition is telling her something is off, or it pinged something in her history which clouds her judgement.

Because it's not the husband whose feelings matter in that moment, it's the patient's...which Phil is putting first, as a doctor should. Drew relates to the husband's struggle, though, so he's interceding on his behalf.

I do not like Phil but she is right. The wife is suicidal and Drew is not a psychiatrist. That woman needs an evaluation to determine if her husband is a trigger that caused her to harm herself and if she is in the right state of mind to even make the decision to see him. And the way he attacked her is not a good sign. I understand he may feel remorse and he may love her but his actions have a harmful effect and she is their patient not him. Drew is being bias and once again it is effecting how he does his job. What he is doing also makes the hospital liable if she tries to harm herself again while in their care.

Even if he isn't abusive and he reacted like that because he was scared of loosing her, he either missed a lot of signs or willfully ignored them, that kind of reaction is not good for the patient's wellbeing right now. That's not a state were you can manage other people's feelings. You irrationally consider everything to be your fault and every bad thing to be something you deserve. This is so of course the stories will be extreme, but Phill is right to keep him away a bit. He isn't able to help in that situation even if he wants to. Drew's the one doing the projecting in here. He also missed the signs of wife's unhappiness in their marriage but his wife had an affair which .. while she really didn't go about it the right way, it's fine... Like it's less of a big deal than a suicide attempt.
