Nico is the best ambassador that this sport could have. I do not care if he finishes 7th or 3rd, he is our hero regardless. He seems to be an extremely nice guy and watching his clips brings me much closer to the action than anything else which I can find on the internet (probably a shared 1st place together with Ben Proffitts clips). What make those two so outstanding ist that they put in the effort to tell a complete story instead just a selection of colorful short sequences. Thank you.

Started in 1977 on the Classic windsurfer. 15 years ago, had serious knee surgery and I thought it was all over. Now, at 58, with your videos, a cousin who never quit and motivated me, plus the evolution of material, I decided to invest in material and go back on the water. First session yesterday with more time in the water than on the board 😂, but it fell so goooood. Thanks for sharing your passion through your videos.

Every day six hours of finest racing it‘s even exhausting to watch on the screen. We all can imagine how everybody feels to do their job as a pro worldcup rider! Great racing, pure emotions and very good summary. Thanks to Nico and Lars (and all the helping hands make this event happens)

Exciting fin action. It´s kind of a relief to see how also the best surfers struggle non jibes when tired. I have therefore followed your advice from an earlier video of training technique in the first 25 minutes of each session before fatigue is hitting me.

@@Nico_GER7 was tight till the end, 10s earlier I would not have guessed who would cross the line first betweent the 3 of you. Not sure why you seemed to struggle with your energy levels. Maybe you should investigate aroud that because other than that you have everything needed to perform. Maybe some medical issue, something wrong with the training or else. I don't think others were all pretending to have much more energy. Maybe that' your key to greater results for next events ! Good luck !

@@lomicwind that’s not quite true. A lot of people kept sailing worse and worse, I noticed. I’m not saying they were pretending, but I have commuted to share my feelings with the camera. They don’t have to say anything. Also I lost a lot of speed when I had to switch to my spare fin. So not all about energy.

Nico, that was fantastic racing and you did really well, even with some bad breaks. With regards to the energy levels, it did look like you were suffering more than the others once you got back to the beach - but they may have been hiding it to psyche each other out. I know how well you look after your diet, but may I ask if you did serious carbo-loading the night before each race day, or is that not a thing for the modern athlete? So more interesting than foil!!!... That is the only real windsurf. Hope foil will disapear and slalom X become an olympic sports.
