The custom block comment around 09:00 that one must make to put in the finbox is key!! I bought a manta foil , did the right thing and made a custom block to put in the box of my old starboard formula. But i pushed it in and DID NOT epoxy it in. And it fell out while carrying the board to the beach.!! .lol... So my first time out my foil rotated forward in the box and cracked front of the box. I had no idea the lift and torque of the foil is so strong that it would do this! But it makes sense as the force vector is up not sideways. It makes sense , seeing the force is in front of the fuselage it acts as a lever and will want to rotate/ tilt the whole strut forward. Windsurfers have to be get used to the idea that the foil force not sideways . Not the windward force from say a big formula fin that can lift the windward edge of the board up.

Hey Nico! What do you think about sanding and sharpening foils or fins?
@Nico_GER74 жыл бұрын
No need to sharpen, but you can sand the surface with 800 sandpaper to make it more slippery.

Love cinematic effects, b-rolls and cool editing. I know myself how time consuming that is. A pleasure to watch. I'd love to see a bit more windsurfing action, different camera angles like bellow the boom at the back especially when foiling. Keep up and good luck.

Hi Nico, have you ever tried the Jp super light wind ? Do you think it does its job ?
@Nico_GER74 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried it yet but for slalom foiling it should be fine due to the narrower tail...

Nice Video 👍🏼 quick question: what would you say is a optimal bodyweight for lightwind foiling with some days in between where the wind gets stronger (up to about 25-30knt)?
@aradbenshlomo14394 жыл бұрын
Don't foil in 30 knots
@Nico_GER74 жыл бұрын
For light it's better to be light for stronger wind better to be heavy... I learned not to force your weight in either direction, just be healthy and get strong in the gym and then you'll be the best you can in any conditions 👍👍

Really interesting video! My question is would the M foil (900 wing & 1m fuselage) work with my JP135 or is a bigger board needed? I'm not a racer & am using the NP F4 Evo (800 wing, 810 fuse), but thought I might get a bit more performance with the M foil, and it might be easier to gybe...??? Thanks in advance.
@yvindbirkeland77064 жыл бұрын
Hi Brett I am using the Neilpryde F4 Racing foil with the JP135. Have tried it with the S, M and L, and it all works good. The M is probably the best compromise. Before I had the original NP F4 RS:Flight foil, and I can say that the new M racing foil is much easier to gybe. I also have a JP190. So I use the 190 for course race, and 135 for freerace.

@@yvindbirkeland7706 Hey Oyvind - thanks very much for that. I've seen your recent posts on the Scandinavian FB foil site and was wondering how I could contact you (I'm not a FB member) - and now you've answered here haha - excellent! There's more I'd like to ask you about - e.g.: 1/ which is better - a 95 or 105 mast (my other Moses foil currently has an 85 which is ok but I think I'd be better with at least a 95 like the F4 Evo); 2/ do you need a long fuselage to give stability to achieve higher speeds? 3/ etc etc, ...but maybe I should just join FB haha. Cheers
@yvindbirkeland77064 жыл бұрын
Nice😁 I also put some videos up on KZbin. But I write more about gear and settings in the windfoil Scandinavia fb group. I prefer the 105 mast over the 95. It gives you more margin, especially in chop. The most important thing for going fast, is a stiff and rigid foil. If the construction flexes, it is impossible to go fast. A short fuselage has less drag than a long one. So in theory shorter is faster. But it is also more responsive. That means that it reacts faster and more dramatic when you move pressure between front foot, back foot and mast foot. So a short fuselage can go faster, but requires more skill. I can do 27 knots on the M fuselage/wing, and so far my best speed on the S is 29 knots. Hope to go above 30 soon.
