Thanks Lee, I was looking forward to this. Buddy, I really enjoy your videos and love the entro music, play🎸me 👍some more of that funky music.🎸 But sometimes, it looks like you need to take a breath and let it out slowly to relax some. It appears like, sometimes you have so much information to say, ya forget to 🌬breath, I know I do it when I'm talking about bees.😅 Keep up the great work Lee, I'm really looking forward to following this series and this system. 🤠 Lee, Ty you for your time, Blessed Days...

I agreed with Tennessee Mountain Bees, "Nicot System explained so Well! " Spray a little sugar water would help speed up the bees on the Nicot frame.

Tip : Use one of the 'Holders' so it is pushed down firmly onto of your x111 Cells, chosen from that Cup Cassette Frame Unit. Super easy way to lift up those Cups with an Egg / Larva in them ! No Rubber Tweezers are needed. And no trouble picking them up with your Fingers either. Hope this helps. 😎 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 Happy Beekeeping 2023 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

Great Video Lee. I had been planning on trying to use the jzbz cups to graft. I have never really seen the nicot system explained. I may have to give that system a try since I have never done grafting. Let us know how well it does.

Thanks, I have this system and was not successful about 5 years ago. I did not let them polish the cells. I will follow your instructions. Will you wait three days before you transfer them into the queenless starter hive ?
@KodiakFarmBeesLee2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'll wait 2-3 days after she lays. Then move them to the cell holder frame, into a queenless colony
@melissaaudler89752 жыл бұрын
If the queen is in the box/cage what will they do with the rest of the frame? Stores? Or is it she in there a short amount of time and can use it after she is taken out.
@KodiakFarmBeesLee2 жыл бұрын
After she lay the cage full. I will remove the entire frame. Collect all of the egg cups and put them into a CELL holder frame. Then give the frame with the cage back to the bees to use the frame until next time I make more queens. I'm working on part 2 of the video. Thanks for watching.
@olddave48332 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming that the queen rearing didn't go over very well as I can't find part 2. I've tried this system two different time with two different hives and two different queens, both times I put the queens back in their hives after five days without either of them laying. both times I followed the directions right to the letter, I guess my queens didn't like to lay in plastic.

How do you get your queen to lay in the cells of the cassette
@KodiakFarmBeesLee4 ай бұрын
After the cassette has been in the hive a couple day. You will open the small entrance at the top of it, insert your queen, then replace the cap. The queen has no other place to lay, except in the plastic cells. After about 2 days, you can release the queen back into the hive. You will then CAREFULLY remove the plastic cells and place them into a grafting frame. Put the frame into a queenless hive that is strongly populated. They will then start to build queen cells for you.

Far be it from me to dictate to someone in southern Louisiana how to pronounce French names. But Nicot is pronounced "Nee-co". He's from a town in the Jura mountains of France.

It seems to help keep "small hive beetles" run out of the hive. The beetles don't like the peppermint
