YES I changed my channel name and branding from PyjamaPantsMusic to my real name 😮. I hope I didn't confuse you all too much! Check out my social media/public Patreon post for details and explanations about that I got a suggestion to do this song on my last video and I immediately began improvising a bit over the beautiful chord progression. I used both sets of lyrics from both versions which I did my best to transcribe and tried out lots of different stuff in the mix! Hopefully more music from this beautiful OST to come later!

This is awesome, Julia. I love this arrangement so much. I've been away from covers as of late because my country is in a really bad state, but this makes me want to improve and come back to videos. On a different topic, I know making requests is frowned upon in this community, so I'd like to suggest a song you might like, rather than requesting a cover - "City of Tears" from the Hollow Knight OST - I'm in love with that game, and maybe you too would find the OST enjoyable! Your voice is so angelic!! Honestly gorgeous job on this. How do you mix your vocals with the instrumentals, if you don't mind me asking? I've been using audacity and I can't quite seem to get the sound I want. Looks like you use a Yeti microphone, which is also what I use

Thank you so much! These are very good questions but a little tricky to answer within a response. Basic vocal mixing involves at the least EQ, Compression, and reverb. Try to find a recording or genre that you would like to emulate and see if you can find information online on how to get that particular sound. Audacity is a great basic editor, but is very hard to get an appropriate or "commercial" sound out of recordings. Effects added are also destructive to your recording and aren't something you can easily turn on and off or tweak in order to experiment. I would suggest learning a DAW like Reaper (for a free/inexpensive option that can do it all). I do have a blue Yeti for voice calls, but I used a condenser microphone hooked up to an audio interface to record vocals here. You can definitely get a decent sound with the Yeti, though!
