I bought it on PC, fell in deep love. Then I bought it on PS4 just to 100% it here out of pure respect. Then I bought the steelbook edition (because let's face it, the Western cover artwork is shit compared to the Japanese one and the Steelbook has the JAP artwork so it's a win-win) Then I bought the 2 Japanese art books Now in no particular order: - I need a print of the JAP cover art to frame it and put in my house. - I need to buy the OST - I need to buy the Black Box edition (probably never due to the price though...) - I need to buy a used PS3 to play the first NieR. Obsessed ? Me ? dunno why you'd say that.

It was in NieR: gestalt about the grandmother of a character named Kainé

One of the first parts of Nier where this was used was when Kaine breaks Hook's illusion when he tries to make her kill herself using her dead grandmother's voice. She recognizes the illusion because her grandmother would never have told her to give up, which is exactly what Hook did, so the rage she had already felt towards Hook for killing her grandmother had just increased, leading to the battle reaching its final phase.

As awesome of a track as this is, and I do love it, I just can't get past how drastically they changed it and ruined the original tone and intent. The original song was deeply connected to characters that aren't even in Nier Automata, so it seems strange to recycle this song as battle music. This song specifically was for a very hands off part of the original game when it turned into a text adventure. Again, I think this version is awesome, not insulting it.
